Hi, I’m Joey, owner of Joey’s DJ Service based in Durham, NC. I travel across North Carolina providing DJ services for weddings and events.

My style is high energy and fast paced. I mix quickly, keep transitions smooth, and focus on building momentum so the dance floor stays full without repeating songs.

Every wedding is different, so I don’t rely on a preset playlist. I read the crowd in real time and adjust throughout the night to keep the right music playing at the right moment.

Beyond the music, I help keep your day running smoothly. I coordinate with your planner and vendors, stay on top of the timeline, and make sure key moments happen when they should without slowing the flow of the night.

With over 15 years of experience, I’m comfortable handling everything from detailed timelines to last-minute changes, so you can relax and enjoy the night.

Outstanding experience with DJ Joey!

Not only is Joey one of the kindest and most charming people we worked with during our wedding planning, he went above and beyond every step of the way! We had several calls with him and met in person over the year leading up to our wedding where he not only helped us with the music planning but actually offered really valuable general wedding advice that helped us make some non-music related decisions.

At the wedding, he was an absolute star! He played a fantastic set with several genres that we had requested throughout the night. All of our guests said they hadn't danced that much in years! Even when it rained for about 20 minutes, people were still on the dance floor having the time of their lives. There's the proof that Joey is committed to giving all those feel good vibes you want for your special day. We absolutely loved working with him and without hesitation recommend him 100%!

The perfect DJ! And more!

Joey went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding DJ. The music was very important to my husband so he had curated pre-set playlist to give to Joey. Joey took my husbands playlist for the different parts of the day (pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, reception) and expounded on them! The vibes were high the whole day. However, not only did Joey keep the music and energy going, he was also very helpful as a wedding timeline keeper/coordinator. Genuinely, I think he was more helpful than my day of coordinator from a timeline perspective. To top everything off, his prices are more than fair. I would recommend Joey 10 out of 10 times!

DJ Joey kept the vibes going

DJ Joey B brought the energy and kept it up all night! His love of music and curiosity of our musical taste was a fresh approach to other DJs we talked to. Joey attended our final venue walkthrough, and gave some incredible suggestions of how to create music zones and vibes throughout the night. He understood our vision and helped bring it to life! We highly recommend DJ Joey B if you want a DJ who listens to you and brings the sense of sound alive during your big event!

Great experience! Book Joey!

Joey has a wonderful service with an affordable price. We really liked working with him for our wedding, and he was great at taking the time to answer our questions. He repeatedly made us feel like he wasn't in it to nickel and dime us - that felt amazing after all the attempted upsells that happen around weddings.

Joey is the bomb!

I highly recommend hiring Joey for your DJ at your wedding. He is very professional and prompt! Not to mention he has wonderful lighting for the dance floor!!! We appreciate you helping make our day so special!!!

You better hire this DJ!!!!!

Mr Joey is seriously the best!!! He knows his stuff!!! He also gives great advice! From the first phone call i knew with no doubt he would be the best, i hired him moments after because of his personality and knowledge. He made me feel i could trust his judgement, and the wedding day went so smooth and was sooo fun. Joey is good with direction of how a day should go and is very accomidating. His website makes it easy to set up your day how you want it, which was a plus. He also supplies mics for the ceremony and reception, he just has everything a couple could ask for. Thank you joey for such a wanderfull day! I could not have had a more perfect wedding. So if anyone needs a Dj, snatch joey up before he is booked, he's your guy i promise.

Senior wedding

Joseph introduced himself to us BEFORE asking for any deposits or contract signatures. He listened to what we were looking for and worked with us to get the best playlist for the age range of our guests. One 19 year old, several in their 50's and the rest in their early 70's. More slow dances than fast. He also helped out the caterer and served iced tea when he saw the pitchers were empty! He even stayed after the reception had ended and helped clear tables.
Joseph was fun and on top of everything. He even helped our photographer get some amazing shots (ours was her first wedding).

Joey was GREAT!

Joey was an outstanding DJ/MC for our small outdoor wedding. He was very helpful and professional, and the guests all had a blast. 10/10 would recommend!
