Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club

My husband and I got married at Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club in June 2025, and it was truly the most special day at the most incredible venue. From the moment we left our initial tour, we knew our search was over—we wanted something different, and Jimmy’s Jazz was unlike any venue we had seen.

The space itself is stunning, unique, and so much fun. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful and memorable it was, and many have told us it was the most fun they’ve ever had at a wedding. The venue really lends itself to that energy. Having the stage was such a standout detail—it felt like having our own private concert, and our band was genuinely excited to perform there.

The food was absolutely incredible and exceeded our expectations. The team was so accommodating with our requests, from swapping out sides to offering several mini desserts instead of a traditional cake, and even adding a mocktail option. Everything was thoughtful, delicious, and beautifully executed.

The flow of the night was seamless. We loved being able to use the art gallery for cocktail hour—it was spacious, visually striking, and perfect for guests to mingle. Multiple bars kept things moving smoothly, and the bartending staff were true rockstars. The team also flipped the main room from ceremony to reception with impressive efficiency and care.

Rachel, the Event Director, was an absolute dream to work with. She answered all of my many questions with patience and warmth, made me feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the planning process, and helped ensure everything ran smoothly on the big day. The entire staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely wonderful.

As an added bonus, we had access to the rooftop, which allowed us to take incredible photos with downtown Portsmouth as the backdrop. We love Jimmy’s Jazz and can’t wait to come back for a show. We truly cannot recommend this venue enough—especially if you’re looking for a stunning, unique, and unforgettable wedding experience.

There was no better place for us to get married than Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club. When we toured the space, we immediately knew this was the place we would begin our next chapter together. Jimmy’s is unique, you want to explore every nook, and it offers so much. Everyone who works at Jimmy’s is kind, hospitable, and takes pride in the venue. Rachel, our venue coordinator, was very professional, informative, and available for any and every question we had. The food and drinks were gourmet at every occasion from the private tasting, the lunch for the wedding party, cocktail hour, dinner, to late night snacks. The gallery was a spacious place to hold our cocktail hour, offering our guests a variety of lounge furniture and stunning art to admire. The stage and lighting made for some unforgettable entertainment and allowed our wedding band Nightshift to really get the party started. All of our guests came up to us and said this was the coolest place they’d ever been to for a wedding and they wanted to see a show there and all of them were raving about the food. Jimmy’s is warm, inviting, unique, and most importantly, FUN!

Our December wedding at Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club was honestly perfect.

We hosted ~200 guests, used the art gallery for cocktail hour (a must), and then moved upstairs for the reception. The venue itself is stunning, but the execution is what blew us away. The food was phenomenal, we went with the filet and halibut, and the cocktails were crafted perfectly (espresso martinis stole the show).

But the real magic was Rachel and her team. Wedding days are chaotic and fly by in a blur, yet they made everything feel effortless. If anything went wrong behind the scenes, we never heard a word. That allowed us to actually relax and enjoy the night.

The funniest part is the compliments haven’t stopped (we’ve had to tell people to stop, we get it). In the three months since our wedding, at least seven couples who attended have already gone back there for dinner and a show.

Planning a wedding is stressful, but Rachel and the team delivered the best day of our lives, hands down.

We held our 130 person wedding at Jimmy's and it was amazing. All of the communication was timely, organized, and helpful. The food tasting was a lovely experience and the food was incredible! Our guests still talk about how delicious the food was and how beautiful the venue was. We worked with Rachael and she was so helpful and fun and put us at ease on the day of. It's the perfect location for a seacoast wedding :)

I have never been more excited to write a review. I truly can't put into words how perfect and spectacular our wedding at Jimmy's was on 10/11/25. From the first interaction with their team until the very end, they were a complete joy to work with. As musicians, my wife and I wanted a unique wedding venue to have a full on party, blending the traditional with non-traditional. We knew right away that we chose the right venue for its aesthetic, but were truly blown away at how amazing the staff and everyone we worked with was. Ella and Rachel took care of our every need and question, and on the day of the wedding, Theresa ran a tight ship making sure we stuck to our timeline and that every aspect of the operation went smoothly. We were able to truly just have fun celebrating with our loved ones. Also, the food. The food was outstanding and I can confidently claim this to be the best food at a wedding, ever. By all standards, the food was unreal and guests haven't stopped talking about it. In addition, many of our vendors came from Jimmy's preferred vendors list and they were just as exceptional as the venue itself. We were also able to have our cocktail hour on the 1st floor in the art gallery. This was just so cool and introduced our guests to the unique, super fun night ahead of them. Jimmy's was perfect in every aspect, and made the entire process fun and easy. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to attend shows at Jimmy's for years to come. This is a truly special place!!!

Jimmy’s far exceeded our expectations for our wedding!! It was such an incredible day and the staff were exceptional. From the overall venue, to the food and attention to detail, our wedding was perfect. We wish we could relive it again!

As you consider whether to go with Jimmy's, I'd like to share a couple reflections from our year of working with them:

1. They don't sweat anything. Keven responded to our initial inquiry in no time, and Rachel had been on the job for no more than a week when she agreed to meet us at the venue, walk us through a still-under-construction Jimmy's, ask all about our vision for our wedding, and explain with confident clarity how they could deliver that vision and more.


2. They're prepared, hilarious, and committed to the personal touch. Two months ahead of the big day, Keven, Rachel, and the rest of the Jimmy's team (GM, F&B director, sound director, etc.) invited us to sit with them to talk through the wedding timeline. As we affirmed the decision around which type of cake we would serve, the baker (very professionally) clarified that they could do whatever we wanted. Fatigued by decisions, I facetiously asked, "How 'bout an upside down cake?" before confirming the real choice. Two months later, when we sat down at the wedding, what was waiting at our table but a mini upside down cake (that later made for an excellent midnight snack)?


3. They put on a heck of a show. Talk about a benefit of getting married at a music venue. Between the impeccable acoustics, the stellar light show, and the incredible band that joined us (sorry, they don't come with the venue), multiple guests approached us throughout the evening to tell us that they had no idea they'd been invited to a private concert. This praise has everything to do with how tight of a ship the Jimmy's teams runs.


The day after the wedding, when I told Keven that he had the best team in the business, he was too professional to say, "I know," but you could see it in his smile, satisfied enough by the job well done.


Jimmy's puts you at the center of the experience because, well, you are. Keven and Rachel in particular always had an answer to every question -- even if that answer was, let's figure that out together. We trusted them instantly and they proved how smart of a decision that was every step of the way.

A different kind of review but we had our wedding ceremony and reception at Jimmy's in June and I can't say enough good things! The space was amazing and what we really appreciated was the different spaces that gave our guests the opportunity to either dance, chat or watch. The food was absolutely incredible and our guests couldn't rave more about it. I have a gluten intolerance and they were extremely accomodating. We also held our cocktail hour in the first floor art gallery that was also stunning. Being a jazz club, we hired a live band to place and they absolutely crushed it and the accoustics were excellent. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding and Rachel was also great to work with and coordinate, we're looking forward to going back for a show!
