Jim Olsen is an award-winning wedding musician based in Pillager, Minnesota. From traditional to modern music, he loves to set the mood for a couple's big day. Jim is originally from Hibbing, Minnesota, but spent many years in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was a full-time guitarist. Jim has performed at hundreds of weddings and special events, and would love to work with you to accommodate your tastes and make your day even more special.

The perfect musician for out special day

Jim exceeded our expectations with his guitar accompaniment to our wedding ceremony and reception. He took the time to meet with us in person, a year in advance, to discuss song choices and to get to know us. On the day of, he was very professional, warm, and friendly while interacting with our guests. We would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a highly skilled musician with a personal touch.

Talented performer

Jim was amazing, so talented and wonderful to work with. We received many compliments on his playing through the cocktail and dinner hour if our reception. Beautiful touch to a wonderful evening, and I would highly recommend him!

Hire Jim NOW!

Jim played his guitar during our wedding ceremony, cocktail reception, and dinner. Three hours straight without a break! We didn't have a clue what music we wanted for our ceremony. Jim met me a couple weeks before the event and brought along his guitar and gave us lots of options! He's so talented, humble, and gracious. You'd be lucky to have him be a part of any special event. He brought our wedding to life in a way that I never imagined. I feel honored that we were able to have him at our wedding. He's amazing.

Jim came highly recommended by my wedding venue and I am so thankful for that recommendation. Jim was a bride’s dream to work with. Communication was so clear and easy and fast, and the music was beautiful. His guitar set the perfect tone for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and he was excellent with recommending songs we had never even considered. We could not have been happier. I would definitely recommend Jim to play for your special event if you’re looking for a professional guitarist.

We highly recommend working with Jim Olsen. We hired Jim to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and he did an excellent job. We received a number of compliments from our guests. Leading up to our big day, we had the added challenge of planning our event from afar. Jim was very easy to work with and was helpful in making sure the songs played matched our personalities and set the mood we wanted. Jim was also great when it came to coordinating setup with our venue, which we really appreciated. Thanks Jim!

Jim was so wonderful to work with. Jim's communication throughout the entire planning process was amazing. He was responsive and kept us informed along the way. This was critical for a bride planning a destination wedding- Jim was one person I knew I didn't have to worry about! I would recommend Jim to any one in need of a musician. He was fantastic and I'm so glad he was part of our wedding!

Jim is just awesome! His guitar playing is just lovely and has been the perfect compliment to our association's event for two years now. He plays a great mix of songs at just the right level so it adds to the atmosphere but is not too loud for conversation. He is super professional; has his own gear, shows up very early and is ready to go when the event starts. Really friendly and easy to talk to as well. We have booked Jim a year ahead of time for next year's event because we are so happy with him. On top of everything else - reasonably priced!
