Stepped in to help a friend in need and made our wedding day absolutely perfect!

We had a unique experience with hiring Jess to coordinate on the day of our wedding. Jess stepped in less than a week to go for our wedding in October because our day-of-coordinator had a very serious family emergency that meant she could not be present on our big day. I can't tell you how amazing Jess (and Ashton) was to help ease our worries. She not only stepped up for our day-of coordinator (who was actually a friend of my husbands prior to us planning a wedding) so that she did not have to focus on anything but her family (which meant the world to my husband and I), she was extremely professional, prompt and made sure EVERYTHING went super smoothly on our day. We facetimed with her the Wednesday before our wedding, and felt instantly better after meeting her. She had already done research on our venue since she had never been there before and had reviewed all the planning documents from our previous coordinator. Jess is bubbly, passionate about her work, and fun to work with. She gave us peace of mind and was extremely responsive to my frequent (sorry!) texts/updates in the days leading up to the wedding. I would not hesitate to recommend her to any couple who wants an excellent planner or day-of coordinator. She even did a great job corralling our five flower girls/ring bearer (who were all under the age of 5 ) to successfully walk down the aisle. Please hire her, you won't be sorry!

Organized and Energetic

I booked Jess Albins Events about 9 months before my wedding. She was able to help connect me with vendors I still needed to book. She effectively communicated with vendors throughout the process. She was helpful with calming anxieties especially with COVID. After each conversation I felt at peace with where we were in the planning process. She was fun and energetic throughout the process and especially the wedding weekend. She made sure things went smoothly. I didn’t have to worry at all about the setup or cleanup of the event. All my belongings were returned in perfect condition. I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without her help. She truly listens to her clients and it is greatly appreciated. She has another business of balloon creations that she executed amazingly as a backdrop for our sweetheart table. It was beautifully created and I was blown away. We were truly able to relax and take in everything about our wedding because Jess was working all of her magic behind the scenes.

Best day ever with jess albins!

Words cannot express how amazing Jess is at her job! My husband and I were engaged for 18 months before our wedding. We did most of the planning ourselves but, as the months drew closer to the wedding date, we knew we were in over our heads. We met with Jess in January 2020 and hired her to be the day-of coordinator for our March 14th wedding. To be perfectly honest, Jess was our absolute favorite part of the wedding!! She has the perfect combination of enthusiasm and organization to make her a superstar wedding planner.

She immediately understood our vision for the day and helped to connect us with other vendors in the city who could help us finalize our decor. She communicated clearly and efficiently with all of our vendors in order to ensure that we had everything in order for our wedding day. And, she helped to keep us calm and sane during the days leading up to the wedding.

Our wedding date (3/14/2020) fell just as things in the U.S. began to escalate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Just days before our wedding, the governor restricted public gatherings to no more than 250 people. Our wedding was well within that margin, but family and friends were suddenly unable to attend the wedding due to travel restrictions and health concerns. My husband and I had planned for a lot of contingencies, but we had not planned for a pandemic. Two days before our wedding, we called Jess in a panic because we were feeling uncertain about our ability to move forward with the wedding day. In that moment, Jess was a complete godsend. She quickly calmed us down and reached out to every single one of our vendors to confirm that they felt comfortable moving forward with the day. She also connected us with a videographer to ensure that we would be able to record the ceremony for loved ones who would not be able to join us in person. Jess was so responsive and truly went above and beyond. On the day of the wedding, when we were faced with no-shows because of the coronavirus, Jess smoothly adjusted our floorplan without me even realizing it. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that we could have the perfect day.

I know that this is a long review, but I really can’t say enough about how perfect Jess made our day. We had the most beautiful wedding. And, despite all of the uncertainty we faced due to COVID-19, March 14th truly was the BEST DAY EVER! And, we could not have done it without Jess. She is such a positive, creative, professional, and amazing person. I highly recommend her for your special day!

Took my money, started planning and then ghosted me

I am not a big social media person, I don't use yelp, but I feel like I need to write this review to caution other brides before they hire Jess Albins for their wedding. When my husband and I started planning our August 2021 wedding back in March of 2020, our venue recommend we reach out to Jess as we mentioned we were looking for someone to do day of coordination and assist with wedding design. Jess and I had an awesome first meeting and I really felt like she "got" my vision for the day. Jess and I were in regular contact from May-September 2020. Jess delivered a design deck to me and we did a site visit to look at furniture. Per our contract, Jess and I were to have monthly check-in meetings from June 2020 thru June 2021, at which point the frequency of our communication was to increase as we ramped up to wedding day. After September 2021, I was never able to get in touch with Jess again. I emailed her in October/November with a question on table numbers and didn't get a response. Thinking she must be busy with the holidays, I didn't push for a reply. When I couldn't get in touch with her in December 2020 or January 2021, I assumed the worst: that she was sick with COVID, and that I was now pestering a seriously ill person. Because I'm not a monster, I wasn't pestering her with emails, but when I had not heard from her by the end of March 2021, I started to panic as my wedding at that point was 5 months away and we had nothing finalized. I sent a final message the first week in April 2021 asking if she was okay and if she was going to be able to continue on as our planner/coordinator and never got a response. I reached out to her husband (who we had hired separately to be our DJ) and was told she was dealing with an illness, but did not offer any information on if she was planning on resuming work. I feel bad that she was so sick, but I don't think it was fair of her to take our money and then just stop communicating with us; a 1-2 word email telling us she was dropping us as clients or giving us a timeline for her to resume the project would have been amazing, but that never happened. I worked with my incredible photographer to find a different planner and coordinator, so it ended up working out, but having this all happen so close to our wedding was incredibly stressful. Additionally, I had to send a certified letter to Jess to request our deposit back since she was no longer going to be our day of coordinator, and was ultimately venmo-ed the money back from her husband with no explanation.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
