My husband and I got married in March and Jason photographed both our engagement shoot and our wedding. My husband and I were not interested in "traditional" wedding photography; we knew we wanted something a little more off-beat and candid to truly capture the real moments of our wedding as it actually happened rather than a series of orchestrated, posed photos. We discussed our wishes with Jason, and explained to him that we did not want to be pulled away from anything at the wedding to pose for photo's. On the day of the wedding, I barely noticed that Jason and his colleague were snapping photo's, they blended right in to the scene and captured our whole entire day so perfectly. Jason got our wedding photo's back to us quicker than I had expected, and when I go through our photo's I feel that the day was documented so well that I am able to re-live every moment as it happened. Jason was incredibly easy-going and easy to work with. If you are looking for documentary style wedding photo's (or any style really), I would recommend Jason Messer Photography to my best friend!

have nothing to say but GREAT things about Jason.
I came to know his work through 2 friends of mine who were married in 2009......I saw their pictures and absolutely LOVED them!
At the time I wasnt engaged...but I had him bookmarked in my computer....for when I was (which I knew was going to be in the near future)
Anyhow...once we were engaged, Jason was one of the first people we contacted for vendors we needed......and luckily he was available for our wedding!
He suggested we set up a time to meet and my fiance and I went to meet with him. During the meeting he spent about an hour talking with us.....telling us his background...showing up a bunch of different weddings he had done....and asked us about what we were going for.

What I had liked about the pictures that I had seen online, and from our friends wedding...is that it wasnt the same old cliche posed & boring shots that you see in almost every wedding album. That being said....he has a very artistic.... really hip/cool vibe about him and his shots.
He will tell you that he likes to catch emotions (like the first time the groom see's the bride that day........)

My overall experience with Jason is nothing but fabulous in EVERY way.....
he is a super nice.....really cool guy......
but at the same time....VERY professional.
The day of the wedding he was there from 3pm until midnight......got 750 shots......
We opted on getting alot of shots before the wedding...as to not take us away from the cocktail hour....and that worked out great!
Another thing we really liked about him....is that he was totally non-obtrusive during the whole wedding.......they were there taking all kinds of shots....but you never felt like you had to pose....or feel awkward (like I do when getting pics taken).

He got the GREATEST shots....and we are absolutely in love with our photos!

Another plus was his cost....which I promise you......is more than worth the money for the caliber of work he does.......
We had talked to a few photographers....and the prices they were charging were SO EXPENSIVE....and their work didnt hold a candle to Jasons......

Our wedding date was June 19, 2010......
and our pictures were finished within a month....which is VERY fast compared to other stories I had heard from other couples weddings.
He is really on it:)
Once he finished the photos.....we got an email with a link for the download of the low-resolution photos (these are the proofs...good for using online...not for printing).....
a link for his website with a password for the online gallery (also low resolution)
and multiple disks with the high-resolution images.....for us to print out as we like.....
and they are good for ANY size printing.

So...needless to say........I would suggest you stick with him....
you definitely will be happy with his work and how he captures the whole day.........

Jason shot our December 27th wedding, which is a hard time to ask someone with a family to do any type of work (since it is so close to the holidays), but Jason did not hesitate. He met with us to review everything beforehand and was available if we needed to ask him anything. Other phoographers give you time limits and stipulations, but Jason included everything in one price. He started at 12:30 and left around 11:00pm. He stayed until we wanted him to, and stayed until he felt he had all of the shots he needed. We barely knew he was there, but we know he did AMAZING work. He works with what you want but he knows what shots he wants to get that day. If you want to feel comfortable with your photographer, with whom you need to spend the WHOLE day with, Jason is your guy. Take a look at his website and I guarantee you will fall in love with his work. His work is 5 star quality!
