Toward the end of planning our wedding, I was so tired of making decisions and confused about what colors I wanted for the florals that I told James to “go crazy” with color— and showed him swatches of the wedding party attire. Honestly, that was the best decision I made all year.

James is so good with color and texture that curtailing his creativity would have been a crime! I can’t even count the different types of florals and greenery that he used — some of my favorites were the bright pink lilies scattered throughout various arrangements, blue thistles, various peach and purple flowers, and the little yellow florals (have no idea what they’re called) toward the bottom of my bouquet. I also have a soft spot for ferns (childhood memory) and loved that he used them in my bouquet and elsewhere! I loved the wild, whimsical feel that his florals brought to our wedding.

He has a beautiful eye and a unique sense of style. He was also responsive and pleasant to work with. You will not be disappointed if you work with him - even (especially) if you don’t have a clear vision for what you want.

James David Ray is an amazing florist! I got married at a country club, so it needed to be dressed up a lot for my vision to come to life. He totally transformed the space, was so flexible to come all the way to Alabama, and has the most amazing eye for florals! I truly cannot say enough good things about him. He worked SO incredibly hard to make my wedding everything I dreamed of. When I saw the ceremony space after he had decorated it, I immediately had tears in my eyes due to how beautiful it all was. He even created an extension of my vision with candles and candle holders. I HIGHLY recommend if you want someone who can take what you describe and create it into something even more amazing than you imagined.

James was a pleasure to work with and created the most beautiful wedding flower arrangements for our big day! My bouquet was phenomenal- I loved it too much to toss…. James listened to me when I explained the types of flowers that I envisioned and made everything way more beautiful that we could have even imagined. He is creative with a true designer vision. The arrangements were artistic and stunning. The compliments were endless during and after our wedding. We highly recommend hiring James!

We booked James for our mini-wedding last month and he blew us away. We had high expectations based on the work we'd seen of his, and he exceeded them. The flowers were so lush and dramatic - with such attention to detail. We couldn't stop looking at them. He is also very polite and easy to work with.
