I had an afternoon reception at my wedding, reasonably priced, delicious food, and staff and catering coordinators were wonderful!!

We recently held my son’s rehearsal dinner at Iz the Place. Everything was PERFECTION. I had received several recommendations from friends and had asked for a general estimate to get a feel for the cost. I was very pleased with the estimate and I booked them immediately without ever having even been in the venue. I had seen pictures online and from friends and knew it was the place.
Melissa was my point of contact, and she was wonderful. She was on top of everything and helped with this nervous Mother of the Groom at every turn with a smile on her face. I met with her a month before the rehearsal dinner and she was very helpful with suggestions and I even made upgrades to the menu since the estimate was under what we had budgeted. Melissa is a very warm and caring person and is very knowledgeable about events, menus, etc. She went out of her way to accommodate us so that we could decorate earlier when we had conflicts with other events we had to attend that day.
Everyone raved about the food and how lovely everything was. The two wait-staff were fantastic. They were everywhere at all times. I realized we didn't have a gift table and they got that set up in the middle of putting down salad plates before I could even turn around. The bartender was taking care of the bar and any questions that I had as well. The rehearsal ended earlier than expected and people arrived 30 minutes early. But the staff didn't blink an eye. The bar was opened early and everyone just socialized until everything was ready.

The food was fantastic. Every bite I put into my mouth was delicious. The passed appetizers were a huge hit. We had fried mac-n-cheese bites, loaded potato bites, and phyllo dough wrapped sausages. Several people commented they could have just eaten the mac-n-cheese bites and been perfectly happy with just that. Our dinner was a buffet with grilled chicken, beef tenderloin, fettuccine alfredo, mixed vegetables, garden salad, and rolls. The seasoning on the grilled chicken was fantastic. The beef tenderloin was flavorful and juicy. Everyone enjoyed the fettuccine alfredo and the mixed vegetables as well. As soon as the pans were empty, they were quickly refilled. And the dessert bites set at each table were fought over!! We had strawberry cake/icing, cheesecake bites, and chocolate mousse bombs. It could not have been any better and I would not have changed a single thing.

I highly recommend Iz the Place. The venue was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff was top notch. The price was reasonable in my opinion considering what all was included and based on other estimates I’ve seen from other venues. You won’t regret using them.

Kay and her staff did an amazing job for our rehearsal dinner. The food and the staff were wonderful. We had so many people comment on how good the food was. This was the first time we had ever used a caterer for an event like this and it couldn’t have gone better! Thanks so much for helping us pull this special event off.

Kay and her team at Iz did an AMAZING catering job at my wedding! Everyone complimented how good the food was and, most importantly, that the servers were so attentive! One guest commented that her glass never even reached half way before it was being refilled. That made me feel so glad I chose Iz. From the first time I spoke with Kay, I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing and knew all the right questions to ask. The best reception food we’ve ever tasted, and that’s straight from our guests mouths! Iz catering knocked it out of the park for my wedding. My husband and I are still ranting about all the goodies we had. Kay Reed is phenomenal and knows what she’s doing. I highly recommend her any day! Wish we could use her business all the time!

My daughter's wedding reception was postponed due to Covid-19. Kay helped me navigate this whole unknown territory. She gave me all the guidelines that had to be followed. When the reception did take place, her team was fabulous. Kind, gracious, and attentive to detail is how I would describe this business. Oh, and did I mention that every food item was delicious!!!

Iz was such a refreshing catering service to have in Alabama! Kay has creative, gorgeous ideas for dishes. She does NOT do boring food. We loved that she doesn't go by a set/standard/cookie cutter menu. She loved incorporating food ideas with what we love in food. Nothing was too much to ask of them- any idea we ran by, she was open to. They were very considerate and creative to serving gluten-free alternatives for my husband, who has celiac disease. Our tasting with Iz was smooth and the food was excellent! And we are very particular about our food quality- but she nailed it! Kay and her team made the planning process FUN and creative. I loved giving her an idea/preference and watching her run with it. For instance, I love a type of foie gras that is from the region in France where I used to work. I asked her if we could incorporate it in the menu. She came up with a lovely hors d'oeuvre incorporating the foie gras and told me to drop the foie gras off any time to their kitchen. I loved the hors d'oeuvres and I loved that I had the freedom to serve one of my favorite foods this way.

Kay and her team clearly have sufficient catering/serving experience from which she draws her expertise. We did one run-through meeting at the venue, and they were as smooth as can be with setup/serving/ and breakdown of food. She made our wedding planning stress-free, and I had 100% confidence that on the day-of, we would be taken care of. We definitely were taken care of! We were spoiled with their generous service and impeccable organization. They provided our bartenders and they handled our rental equipment. I love how on top of everything they were! A bride's dream!

The servers were lovely and so kind and warm. Everyone at the wedding raved about the food. I raved about the food. My only regret is not getting seconds!! I felt like I had an excellent working relationship with Kay and her team, and they seemed to really enjoy their job! We loved our picnic bag they sent us away with. They were just a dream to work with.

We had such a great experience with everyone at IZ! We ended up doing a tasting with 3 different catering companies and it was the easiest decision to go with IZ for my October wedding with 200 guests. They were all similarly priced but the staff and food at IZ were incredible! Kay and Allison are both so sweet and were extremely responsive to all of my emails and calls. Their attention to every detail was unparalleled. They kept thanking me for using them but honestly, I am so grateful that they did the catering for my wedding. They are genuinely some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
And the food.... EVERYTHING was incredible! I am still getting compliments from guests! We decided last minute to do petit fours (aka baby bites) instead of a groom’s cake and Allison was very accommodating in adding them to our menu. And they were DELICIOUS!
I would recommend this company for any type of catering needs!!
