One of -if not the- most beautiful buildings in downtown Indianapolis! It was always my dream to get married here after my first visit as a child! The Indiana War Memorial is one block from monument circle and is connected to the downtown library with a large memorial park. If you want a classic, vintage or beautiful wedding this is the location. (wouldn't really go with modern unless you did an outdoor wedding on the patio or in the park- which is also beautiful) Inside there are high ceilings, all ornate, tons of marble and lots of columns- this building is so beautiful you'd need little to no decorations of your own (we only used flower petals on the platform). For one price you can rent the entire interior of the museum (auditorium, lobby, side rooms, kitchen, etc) or you can rent out only what you need. Here you can bring in any caterer you choose (as long as they're licensed)! This is something I had a really hard time finding anywhere else. Only downsides are they are open to the public until 5 on Saturday's, you can only set up & tear down on the day of the wedding (but you can start at 9am and have to be out by midnight), and because it's state owned there are rules about tape, candles, etc. All in all this is a magnificent place! They have endless opportunities for pictures without ever leaving the grounds, a super friendly staff and a parking lot you can rent down the street so your guests don't have to deal with street parking! Truly a gem, but book early!

We didn't end up having wedding there cause spouse was ill. We hadn't even thought we would have found a cost effective place in downtown Indy. Indiana War Memorial, did right be my veteran spouse on price, beautiful space...well equipped and easy to work with. Accommodating!!
