Hiring Ian Chin Photography was easily the best decision we made for our wedding day! We looked at at least a dozen photography websites and once we came upon his, we knew he was different. For starters, his creative shots are...so creative! We had never seen photos like his before! He has a squirrel photo that definitely stood out for us - so fun haha! But what caught our attention most were the moments and laughter so commonly found on his website. I was like...how do you get these so often?! :D

His photos were exactly what we expected and more!!! His focus on candid photojournalism was evident as he captured so many laughs and tears throughout the day! One of my favorite photos from the wedding is when my mom and I put our heads together and smiled - so touching! I didn't even notice he was there! He has an ability to be everywhere there was a cute moment it seemed!

I've seen my friends wedding photos and they are nothing like his - they have a bunch of posed photos and I love that a majority of our photos are real moments (although he did a magnificent job on our family formals as well - the only real posed period of the day).

He is great at communicating and even helped us plan the time outline to make the day the most efficient! Who does that?!
With his experience, we were able to adjust the time outline to maximize our wedding day. Since I have been to weddings myself as a guest where things run late, and Ian made some recommendations that I would never have thought of (such as doing formals before the Ceremony, which allowed us more time for Couples portraits as well as actually hanging out at our cocktail hour! Actual face time yay! :D

Don't think about it any further - Ian Chin Photography is the best wedding photographer out there!!!

Ian did a fantastic job with our wedding photos at City Hall in San Francisco. He advised us on how to schedule the photos to make best use of the space, what to expect at City Hall, and where to take group and individual photos. We had a very large and unwieldy group that he charmed into position with deft and polite instructions. Everyone raved about his amazing ability to quickly position the group and take gorgeous photos in a short period of time. We feel so lucky to have found Ian and worked with him. I don't think we could have found anyone else who could live up to his amazing skill. We also really appreciated that he gave us the negatives for the photos when he was finished. We cannot recommend Ian highly enough.

Out of all the vendors I had for my wedding day, having a great wedding photographer was the most important and I’m so glad I chose Ian Chin Photography for my big day :)

He is so easy to work with, and a little amusing too as I saw him crawling on his back or standing on chairs for some photos. All the guests loved him, and his communication and professionalism throughout the process from emailing in the beginning to delivering the photos afterwards, made it so easy to work with. And of course the photos were amazing! He combined the traditional posed shots with the creative shots that I hired him for. Thanks again Ian!

Ian is a truly gifted photographer! In search for our wedding photographer, I interacted with a number of cocky photographers that insisted their style was the best. Ian is the complete opposite. He listens to his clients, makes you feel comfortable and best of all he's totally down to earth.

Ian shot our engagement session at Golden Gate Park and Baker Beach. He is committed to finding that magical shot without being overly directive. When our pictures came in, we were thoroughly impressed in the creativity and quality of our photos.

I also booked Ian for my boudoir shoot to give my fiancee a nice engagement gift. I have never done a boudoir shoot before and he was able to make me feel super comfortable. Once again, Ian exuded professionalism and photographic talent!

As for our wedding, Ian captured all the special moments of our special day at Casa Real. He was open to my photographic ideas but also made sure to have his own style shine through. Ian did such a great job my husband and I cried tears of joy as we went through the album. Selecting the right wedding photographer is an important decision. Run, don't walk, to hire Ian Chin for all your photographic needs!

I reviewed over 20+ photographers for my wedding, evaluating their style for traditional shots, candid shots and artsy shots. I wanted the traditional and artsy shots for framed photos and candid shots to capture the moments of the day. When I came across Ian's galley, I knew I had finally found my photographer.

His photos were beyond my expectations and he did all three styles amazing well. His communication and professionalism before, during and after the wedding always had me feeling confident he was on top of everything. Most of all his super friendly and easy going personality put my wife and I at ease and allowed us to truly be ourselves in front of the camera.

Ian did our engagement photo shoot (Feb 2016) and our maternity photo shoot (Oct 2018) and they were both awesome. Photos are fantastic and I love how he always gets some cool, creative shots. He really captured us exactly how we wanted both times. I especially love the candid photos where we are laughing because it is so us. He did some amazing shots from different angles, distance, etc. He definitely has a great artistic eye and you can tell he loves what he does. We highly recommend him. Thanks Ian!

Ian is an amazing photographer and couldn't be happier with how our pictures turned out! My husband and I did a simple ceremony at San Francisco City Hall on August 5, 2016 and Ian was able to capture the magic, love and amazing structures of City Hall for our special day!
Since he was familiar with the venue, it was a breeze to get the best angles that both showoff the space and how handsome we are :)

Ian is AWESOME!! My husband and I had a last minute elopement (with our two daughters) at San Francisco's City Hall, and we needed a photographer to capture the moment. Luckily, Ian was available.

About two days before the ceremony, I realized that we needed a witness....which of course, it just being us and our girls, we didn't have. I asked Ian, on short notice, if he could be a witness for our wedding, and he graciously said, "yes, I'd be honored to." He arrived early (before us, in fact), and as we were waiting for our marriage license, he began taking pictures.

The moment I met Ian, I felt that we were in good hands. He is extremely professional, patient, creative, and kind! I had no idea what type of style I wanted for our photos, and that was fine, Ian took care of it all. I plan to hire Ian again on our next trip to San Francisco for a second round of family photos.

This review is a little overdue, but I have just come back to visit my wife's family here in SF (we live in Australia). We just showed everyone the DVD of our photos from our wedding in April when I suddenly realized that I forgot to tell the world how awesome Ian's photos are! He managed to capture the emotion of everyone so incredibly well and his unique perspectives for some of his shots were really really cool. The man is a true professional and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

My wife and I hired Ian for our wedding day and we could not have been happier! I was pretty strict with who I wanted to document our wedding day and the only thing I really wanted to be in charge of (with permission haha) was the photography since I have dabbled with it in the past and had a better understanding of it compared to my wife. His passion in capturing real candid moments showed the day of as I remember him standing and shooting for a few minutes while I was talking and hugging my mom...priceless moments for me that definitely deserve more time and photos than a few snaps. He captured the day perfectly and you will be impressed with his hard work and photography I am positive!
