During our wedding planning process, we did tastings at 4 different caterers. Hoopla was our fourth and final tasting because we knew immediately we wanted to hire them, and we are SO grateful we chose them. We had an 186 person seated dinner at our wedding and with a guest count that high, you always worry about quality and consistency. Let me assure you, you do not need to have those worries if you choose Hoopla. Chef Todd and Kat are extremely talented, detail-oriented, perfectionists when it comes to serving large parties. The food they prepared for our wedding was just as amazing as it was at the tasting. Chef Todd even came up with different versions of a mini quiche that he let me choose from and that French Onion quiche ended up being my favorite appetizer. Every caesar salad was fresh, crisp, and had the perfect amount of dressing and crouton cheese crumbles. The lemon and garlic chicken was perfectly cooked. The beef short rib was the talk of the town, seriously. So tender, our guests were blown away. Dori was also so great to work with and it helped that her and my amazing planner (Alexis Rendina of Ren & Co) had worked together before and the two of them made all the logisitic and rental planning so easy. I truly can't recommend Hoopla enough!! All of their staff was so helpful and friendly too. Bartenders were great!! They made our signature drinks with ease. Everyone always made sure we, as the bride and groom, had a drink in our hands too. And also the free pretzels for life perk at The Food Market is a huge plus that we will definitely be taking advantage of for the rest of our lives. Dori and the Hoopla team were our favorite vendor to work with! We came to them with an idea of late night food for our wedding and they executed it perfectly. It was such a nice finish to wedding festivities and are grateful for the team that made it all happen.

Working with Hoopla has been a fantastic experience! When my partner and I first tried their food at the Food Market restaurant, we knew we had to hire Hoopla for our wedding. Their food is so fresh, it just blew away the competition. Our guests agreed too - we got so many compliments for the food throughout the wedding.

We had so many questions about logistics, what would and would not work, and Dori answered them all patiently and so much quicker than I would’ve hoped. She was flexible with us as our plans changed throughout the process, and made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted for the special day.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Hoopla! Dori was SO helpful through the whole process and such a pleasure to work with. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The food was phenomenal! Every single guest we’ve talked to since the wedding has mentioned to us about how amazing the food was and that it was one of the best entrees/hors d'oeuvres they have ever had at a wedding. Guests were also talking about how friendly and attentive the staff were. The team went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I always had what we needed, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed being part of our celebration.

Kat, one of the head chefs, was so kind and made a point to come out to talk to us which we thought spoke volumes!

We are very thankful to have been able to work with this awesome team on our wedding day. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we wish we could do it all over again with them!

Dori, Kat, and the entire Hoopla team absolutely KILLED IT for our wedding weekend. During initial conversations, the menu was explained clearly, and the tasting dinner in particular was a delight. Dori and Kat also let us freestyle the menu a bit by customizing with items available in the restaurant (The Food Market - check them out!) that weren’t on the catering menu. Dori was also flexible in letting us pick and choose a bar package that worked for us - we aren’t heavy drinkers, but wanted a signature cocktail, so they came up with a mocktail with an optional alcoholic add-on that was a perfect addition!

On the day, the entire team set up quickly and quietly, allowing us to focus on getting ready in peace and quiet (the reception was at a B&B, with guests staying upstairs and the catering setup downstairs). Everyone - from the chefs to the waitstaff, bartenders to setup crew - were absolute delights to work with, even in 90+ degree heat.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend Hoopla catering to anyone that wants to have top-notch catering at their event!

My husband and I used Hoopla’s services for our May 2024 wedding. We can’t say enough good things about our experience working with the entire Hoopla team. Dori was absolute life-saver - helping us plan the day and work through all the details. Throughout the entire process she was kind, responsive, and she thought of every last thing. We truly could not have done this without her.
Chefs Kat and Todd were incredibly easy to work with. They made sure we were happy with everything during our tasting and were more than willing to incorporate any notes we had for them.
Janet, our day of coordinator, was so lovely. She made sure that as the bride, I didn’t have to focus on anything else other than enjoying the day. She made sure everything ran smoothly.
As for the food, it was spectacular! We had guests chasing down the waiters during cocktail hour, as they couldn’t get enough of the Amish Soft Pretzels! I was warned in advance as a bride to make sure I ate on my wedding day, and I had no trouble doing so. Everything was delicious. My husband and I even went back to The Food Market to celebrate our one week anniversary!

My husband and I are local to Baltimore so when we started to plan our vendors for our wedding, Hoopla was the only choice. Food Market is our favorite restaurant in the city and their catering experience gave us the exact same experience we love. We cannot thank the team enough for their help and support. I was a newly gluten free bride and the team customized ALL of our desserts and made a special Gluten Free salad just for me. Our guests raved about the food during and continue to bring it up months after our October wedding. We decided on a buffet, which I was nervous about. The staff served the guests food to help maintain a proper flow and it allowed our guests to come back for seconds. I cannot imagine a better partnership than we had with hoopla.
I’ve included photos from our photographer but also from our tasting, in Food Markets private room. The chefs were on hand to make any adjustments we wanted (gluten free problems) and were so accommodating. Dori took away all the stress I gave my self on seating plans, table set up, and linens. Just wow from start to finish.
