Kathleen and her team at Helwig Winery made our wedding day a dream come true. We can't express enough how lucky we feel to have found such an awesome wedding venue. Everything from planning to the day-of setup went seamlessly and smoothly. We had so many guests come up to us and tell us how beautiful everything about our wedding was - from the gorgeous views, the facilities, and the overall setup. We 100% recommend Helwig and Kathleen. 5/5 stars!

We wanted an intimate and special venue to say our "I Do's" and after meeting with Kathleen and exploring Helwig we found it, all in the wine cave! What a magical day, that expressed us in every detailed! Kathleen and her staff took the time to understand my plan and desires and magically made it all become reality, even allow us to included our dogs! Every thing was perfect, magical and romantic!

Guests cannot stop talking about our wedding, and I must admit I owe most of that to the staff and venue Helwig! Our venue fell through 5 months before our wedding date, and we were so blessed to have found Helwig. I worked with the event coordinator Alissa, and I cannot say enough good things about her! Her professionalism, responsiveness, and help exceeded any expectations I could have ever had. Her and her staff made everything flow effortlessly. The value for this venue is exceptional. The pictures do not do it justice, as every one of our guests was blown away by Helwig. I cannot thank Helwig and Alissa enough for giving me the wedding of my dreams.

The wedding of our dreams!! We absolutely LOVED this winery! The wedding coordinator took great care of us and took care of everything! They're were so flexible with all of our requests and needs. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and professional. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful our wedding venue was. You will get the most beautiful pictures even if they're on your cell phone....the sunset, the 360 views, the stunning wine cave. I highly recommend renting the chateau as well....It is so relaxing, beautiful and so close to the winery....they even give you and your house guests transportation to and from the wedding. They literally took care of everything!!! We also love the wine! We are very happy and satisfied wine club members! Every time we visit, it is like visiting old friends!!

After reading the other review I am surprised at how low of a rating they gave Helwig. We had a completely opposite experience and found the coordinator to not only be professional but to help us create what we envisioned for our wedding day.
In regards to running out of wine.....my concern is that they did not estimate correctly how much wine each person would drink.
This seems like a logistical problem that had less to do with the people serving the wine or running the event and more to do with poor estimating.
The venue is breathtaking, the staff is courteous and the coordinator is professional and payed close attention to every detail.

Helwig gets a 5.0 for the venue, but 0 for the quality of service. Helwig is a premier wedding destination with its fabulous views, amphitheater, cave and pavillion for an exceptional wedding venue. Our guests were flabergasted and could not stop talking about the venue.

That being said, Helwig is solely responsible for the bar service and that is the only part of the wedding that was not perfect. Our biggest fear coming into the wedding was that we would run out of wine. We were assurred, repeatedly, that if we were to run low on wine, we would be able to purchase more. In the wedding coordinator's words, "I think we could come up with some more wine if needed, we are a winery after all!"

Barely 30 minutes into the cave cocktail reception, they ran out of red wine and glasses. Guests were left standing around while they brought more wine down, which created a huge line for wine.

Then, as soon as people started arriving out of the cave to the pavillion, again the bar immediately ran out of white wine. I found out later that a relative bought a case on the spot so other guests would not find out.

And still later, a full hour before the reception was to end, again the bar ran out of wine.
At no time ever did the Helwig wedding coordinator come to me, my husband or my personal wedding coordinator to tell any of us that we were running low on wine and offer us the opportunity to purchase more. This was all very embarrasing.

Finally, the wedding coordinator was supposed to put out personalized bottles of wine for our guests to take as they were leaving, and she completely forgot!! Dozens of guests had already left without their gift before we realized that the wine bottles had not been set out. What a disaster, and another embarrassment.

No one from Helwig has ever apologized or offered an explanation to us. Luckily, we prefer to remember all of the good things about the wedding, and will try to forget the terrible service from Helwig and its staff.
