DJ Eko was SUCH a great choice for our wedding DJ! We are from Brooklyn but got married in Rochester, NY and wanted something extra special for the music. My husband found DJ Eko and she did NOT disappoint! Right off the bat, she made us feel confident we'd be in good hands simply because of her approach to weddings. It was clear she would be creative, responsive to the crowd, and all while maintaining the feel we were hoping for. She asks great questions to get to know the couple, and isn't afraid to be honest when feedback is needed! DJ Eko was super flexible when we had some last minute asks of her, and did a great job of being prepared for what was an out of town event for her (all the way from CA to NY!). We were THRILLED with DJ Eko! I cannot recommend this company highly enough. As soon as we spoke to her, we knew we were in good hands - she asked us great questions about what kind of music we grew up listening to, what the age range of our guests was going to be, what kind of music our parents liked, etc. She helped us make decisions about what to play for different parts of the evening, and sent us an extremely helpful worksheet to help us figure it out.

She blew us away at the reception - no one could stop talking about what an amazing DJ she was. We had every single person at our wedding out on the dance floor for hours, from a 92-year-old grandmother to our 3-year-old flower girl, who danced until 1am. There was almost a revolt when her time was up, so we asked her to play for another hour, and she kept the party going until the venue told us we had to stop. Every time I stepped off the dance floor to talk to a guest or do some other bride-related activity, another amazing song came on and I had to run back. Everyone was a sweaty, smiling mess by the time she stopped - she made our wedding the best night of our lives, and we could not be happier with our choice. Thank you, DJ Eko!

Erica was very professional since the first moment that we contacted her until the end. My now husband was very impressed not only with her punctuality, but with her being all ready to start an hour before the event took place. She sent us worksheets that made the process of music selection very easy. She was open to hear what we wanted, and accommodated the event to match our preferences; it really felt like we had the music tailored for us! Our wedding was beautiful, and we definitely know that a huge part of that was because of her timing and great talent on creating a wonderful arrangement of music through the event. Our wedding was a very diverse one, especially in terms of ages/generations. Erica created just the environment and tone and backdrop to our wedding we were looking for. She honored our requests while also using her expertise, talent, and art to enhance the environment and bring people together. She specializes in cross-generational music; we felt like all of our guests and their diversity was embraced and celebrated by the fusions Erica created rather than tip-toed around or stereotyped.

In short -- sometimes the bar for wedding decisions is "I hope I make a decision I don't regret." Not only will that be true when you choose Erica to create the environment at your wedding/event through music, my bet is that you-- like me -- will also end up saying "that was undoubtedly a GREAT decision and I can't imagine choosing anyone else."

I 100% recommend DJ Eko and Heartbeats Everywhere! DJ Eko was responsive and friendly and most importantly, she was excited about DJing our wedding because she actually enjoys it. It seems a lot of DJs just do weddings to supplement their income but that they don't actually enjoy doing it - DJ Eko is not that DJ. She was grooving behind the DJ stand and was smiling and awesome. She worked with us to develop a mix for our reception and dinner that fit our musical tastes and got everyone dancing - EVERYONE - until the last minute. Our guests were so impressed with her and asked us how we found someone so great. If music and the DJ's energy is important to you, book her if you can!!

Erica, aka DJ EKO, *ROCKED* our wedding - My husband and I really loved how she mixed it up - with having our eclectic suggestions in mind!!! She's simply, AWESOME - not to mention she did mixes at our Indian fusion wedding that our guests still rave about a couple months after. Not only that, but our pictures really are worth a thousand words --everyone is dancing at the reception with their socks off, shoes off, laughing and having a blast!!! The bollywood mashups & 80s mashups were amazing and fit our personalities and got everyone going... I loved the Milkshake mix for the single ladies' bouquet toss too!! If you're looking for a DJ- look no further, DJ EKO will get everyone up and dancing and having a ball - she puts a unique spin on things and has a talent unlike others. You will have a memorable event - we couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day and was made even more special with the music DJ EKO put out!!! :)

Please do yourself a favor and book DJ Eko/Erica for your wedding! I tend to be detail-oriented and picky about most things, which made wedding planning very stressful. I know that music is one of the most important details of the night. I love music and dancing, but really didn't have a vision of what I wanted the music to be like. DJ Eko made the process super easy and really took a lot of the planning out of my hands. I only provided her with a little feedback on what I consider fun/not fun, but she was able to take that and create an amazing atmosphere for the wedding. Every person - young and old - was able to dance the night away. I think people actuallly danced out of the venue and onto the buses - what more could a bride ask for. Book DJ Eko! You will not regret it!

We love Erica! She did such an amazing job at our wedding, we still have people asking us about our 'amazing non-wedding wedding DJ'. She catered everything to our preferences and played all the music we wanted - lots of Motown - and really had everyone dancing all night long. Far from the standard cheesy wedding DJ (no top 20 pop songs, smoke machines, strobe lights, or cheesy wedding announcements), we really felt everything was personalized for us.

We were also so impressed with her as a vendor - meeting up with us beforehand, very responsive with dozens of emails coordinating playlists and the technical side (we had our ceremony way outside of where the dancing would be later, a friend playing and acoustic guitar which she helped amplify, as well as an outdoors cocktail hour) - she made everything an absolute dream. She was really pleasant, flexible and accommodating - the perfect vendor.

If I could do my wedding again, there are so many vendors I would avoid like the plague - but she is one that I would use again and again, I would highly recommend her to anyone.

DJ Eko was AMAZING! After meeting with her before the wedding she instantly picked up on what we envisioned. She kept the flow of our wedding going strong the entire night. Her mixing skills had everyone on the dance floor both young and old. Between the spanish music for the grooms side and the dance/hip-hop music for the young folks, she provided a variety that made everyone happy! Too add to her amazingness, she even gave one of the groomsmen a ride back to the hotel after he missed the shuttle! DJ Eko ROCKS and is highly recommended!!!

We wanted a DJ for our wedding who was not specifically a wedding DJ, which in our experience tended to play too much to a formula or was typically “cheesy”. We found DJ Eko and decided to reach out after reading an interview on the Martha Stewart Weddings website, which gave us a good sense of her personality and approach. Erica met with us promptly and was very warm, positive, collaborative, professional, and organized. She walked us through the specific input she needed from us to understand what we wanted. Our venue also provided a challenge in that our ceremony, dinner, and reception were on separate floors and did not allow a lot of setup time on the day. She mic'ed the ceremony, did the sound check with the vocalist for our first dance, and did the music for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing, so it seemed she was in multiple places at once but made it all happen seamlessly. She also did some announcing during the dancing in a natural and comfortable way, not a cheesy-wedding-DJ way. We were so happy with the music and many of our guests made a point of telling us afterwards specifically how good the DJ was. She had a very personal touch when working with us, and it was obvious to us that she loves what she does. We feel so lucky to have been put in touch with Erica and highly recommend!
