About
Described as "the character quintet," Hathor Winds embodies versatility and style. Hathor, an Egyptian goddess displaying multiple personalities, was said to be able to invoke any emotion on a whim. That sentiment holds especially true to this dynamic group of young artists. Each member's individual style and personality adds a new dimension to what has become the Hathor sound. Committed to inclusivity and widespread exposure to chamber music, Hathor is equally passionate about standard woodwind quintet literature and lesser-known works, and prioritizes the expansion of the wind quintet repertoire.
Established in January 2014, Hathor Winds enjoys a thriving musical life as one of Boston's emerging chamber ensembles. As a semi-finalist in the Astral Artists' National Auditions Tour, the group also traveled to Philadelphia, PA to perform in Rock Hall at Temple University in January 2015. Additionally, Hathor was a quarter-finalist in the 2015 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, Indiana and received the Judges' Special Recognition Award at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, Missouri.
A highly diverse group, Hathor Winds is available for a wide range of events - from weddings to private recitals - in the New England area.
