About
Haole, pronounced how-lee, refers to someone not of Hawaiian decent. It is not an offensive word, but rather a word used to distinctly refer to anyone not native hawaiian, but most typically caucasians. The two owners, also friends, both had daughters in competitive hula dancing studios in Southern California and became known as "the haole boys" among hula friends and families. When we decided to start this business, the decision to call it "Haole Boys Shave Ice" was easy. What do haole boys know about making authentic Hawaiian shave ice? Despite your initial reaction to anticipating any haole making anything authentically hawaiian, you will soon agree that our shave ice may just be the best you've every had.
Hire us for your next catering event, and you'll discover we serve "a little bit of paradise in every cup."
Haole Boys Shave Ice specializes in authentic Hawaiian shave ice. Not the kind with chunks of ice, but the soft fluffy kind. Our block ice is carefully frozen and expertly shaved so that it isn't too soft or too coarse. We like to think, and our customers agree, it is "perfectly" shaved. This allows the shave ice to burst with flavor as it melts in your mouth, the way it is supposed to.
