My wedding day hair and makeup artist could no longer make it to my Richmond reception and after contacting more than 60 artists, I finally lucked out and found Mimi, who luckily had a space open up in her schedule. She is the queen of Hollywood waves, but also is super talented at makeup as well. She was so sweet to chat with before hiring, super accommodating, showed up right on time, and completed my look flawlessly. While not every artist is a professional, Mimi is the definition of professionalism and I’m so lucky I got to work with her!

I hired Hair by Mimi for my wedding specifically with the Hollywood Waves hairstyle in mind. Not only is Mimi a complete gem of a person, she is SO talented and professional - I have never felt more beautiful than I did with this hair on my wedding day! I received countless compliments ALL night long - everyone was obsessed with my hair! And it lasted all through the night of sweaty, humid dancing. Mimi is such a sweet person and it’s hard not to love her. I found her on Instagram through hashtag searches. Her Instagram sold me before I even had my trial. She was able to fit me in since I was coming from out of town. Originally, for my trial I chose to do an updo. Ultimately, I decided to go with Hollywood waves, which is her specialty. My hair stayed in place all day, even when I had to put it up in a bun for paebaek. She did all of my bridesmaid’s’ makeup and hair beautifully as well. Where do I even start with this amazing, beautiful person. Hair by Mimi exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could've ever imagined for my wedding that took place during the month of November. I was so nervous when trying to decide on a hairstyle/fit that would match my wedding theme and wedding dress. I am someone who is self conscious about my hair and my hair in general isn't very thick, so I expressed this concern to to her and she was able to recreate an incredible wedding hairstyle look that I was beyond happy about. She also did my mom, grandma, maid of honor and sister-in-law's hair which they were all super happy about how it looked! The BEST vendor I met moving to VA! Although my wedding was almost 4 years ago, i still talk about my hair like it was yesterday. Mini SAVED me! She listened to exactly what I wanted and provided BETTER than what I asked for. Mimi did hair for about 10 people or so in like 3-4 hours! Everyone loved it! I don’t know where to begin. Mimi is my all time favorite hair stylist in the DMV area!! I found her on IG 3 months before my wedding back in 2017 and she was an absolute delight! I was planning my wedding from Canada, so I didn’t really know what to expect when I went for my trial. I’ve dealt with unprofessional and not so talented stylists in the past as I have family who lives out here and been to various weddings over the years - so I was a little nervous.

Her professionalism, work ethic, confidence, kindness is beyond the world. I haven’t met anyone in this industry, in VA or Canada, who has her persona. Any person who has booked her in the past understands and agrees with this!

The moment I met her, we automatically connected. She made me feel calm and listened to everything I asked of her to do. She took my imagination of how I wanted my hair to be and brought It to life - TWICE! Once at the trial and the second on my wedding day! Even my husband loved my hair! She was so sweet even in our text correspondence prior to meeting in person! I literally felt like I was asking a friend to be my hair stylist!

The day of my wedding, Mimi was punctual and enthusiastic. She was ready to get the day going and made sure my nerves were calm as she dolled me up. She cracked jokes, made suggestions, was social and kind with my family. She did a total of 10 women, if I can recall correctly, all in a matter of 5-6 hours! Talk about being productive! And let me tell you, that hair stayed in place, all night along... and into the next day lol!

I have continued and will continue to recommend Mimi to any future bride, bridesmaid, MOB, MOG, or any woman needing a stylist for any occasion. She is reasonably priced, and worth every dollar!
