The location itself is fantastic. We had both our ceremony and reception in the large main gallery of the museum in front of the dinosaur. We were able to incorporate subtle dinosaur details on our invitations and tables to incorporate the theme. Included is admission for all of the guests in to the galleries, which is a great added bonus. My wedding ran perfectly smoothly day of and we got many compliments from our guests on how "cool and unique" of a venue it was. The grounds are also immaculate making a great setting for pictures. The museum was open the day of and day after the wedding, so there are strict times for set up and break down, but we didn't find that to be an issue. I would give the Tellus 5 stars if it were not for the pre-wedding communication. While there is an onsite director of events, this person is not a wedding planner, and does not act as such if that is something you need. I found errors in my contract multiple times, and while they were more than happy to correct, it is on you to make sure it is accurate. Additionally I got a call the week of my wedding saying they were not letting my caterer in because of paperwork they needed even though I specifically chose a pre-approved caterer to avoid this. Talking to my caterer they had sent in the needed paperwork 4 times. This was extra stress the week of my wedding that I really didn't need. I also was not sure why they called me first instead of calling my planner. The two get ready rooms are conference rooms. The guys' room was so hot they had to move to the breakroom. Not great for pictures of getting ready. Alcohol and bartenders must be done through the museum. We had an open beer and wine bar with no issues or complaints. Overall the venue is special and memorable. I had absolutely no issues the day of my wedding and everything looked beautiful!
