Governors Towne Club

Governors Towne Club was the perfect venue for our daughter’s vision of her wedding day. Not only in the beauty of the grounds, building, bridal suite and ballroom but in the planning, execution and professionalism of the entire staff! When the rain and thunderstorms rolled in, their flexibility to flip the cocktail hour with the ceremony time allowed the storm to pass and an outside ceremony to take place. The staff dried all 180 chair, had towels available for guests and Jamie carried the bride’s train and veil to the start of her walk down the aisle. Memories made to last a lifetime! A must take a look if planning a wedding!

We had our daughter's wedding there a few weeks back. The staff was exceptional and they did an absolute fantastic job. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

I booked this venue for my wedding, my wedding date was 10/1/2022, I had the best experience of my life working with Amanda and this venue, the staff was very accommodating to what I envisioned for my big day and basically granted everything I wanted for my day, I was a little nervous to book initially because food prices wouldnt be locked in until a few weeks before the wedding date, but my food prices didn't change much but a dollar or two from the time I signed my contract which was about 1.5 years before my actually wedding date, all in all I really feel like this venue worked so hard to make my dreams come to reality, not to mention how beautiful the grounds are, so many photo spots, and the ballroom is the is the die for, all my guest were in amazement after seeing the room and the decor, two years later people are still talking about my wedding and how amazing the food was, and the service from the staff, Amanda was so nice as well, she would call just to check in with me through out the days leading up to the wedding day, they even gave us a wedding gift which was so sweet and unexpected, just all in all I would recommend this venue every day of every week to anyone for any reason, 100plus rating

From a COVID Bride: 9/26/21
This review is long overdue. I had the privilege of having my rehearsal dinner and wedding at one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Southeast, Governors Towne Club.

From the moment of my first tour, I was brought to tears by the space. Entering the grand ballroom, this place exuberates elegance and class. The first person I came into contact with at the venue was Amanda. She is the Director of Weddings and Events and has had years of experience in the events/wedding industry. Not only is Amanda an expert at her craft, she cares about her brides. I was planning our wedding 18 months ahead, then COVID hit. She kept me up to date with policies and venue development. In Facebook bridal groups and amongst my friends, I hear about horror stories of venue coordinators that are horrible. I would look at those posts and feel so bad that other brides do not have someone like Amanda in their corner. I toured three other prestigious courses in the area and nothing held a candle to Governors Towne Club. As my wedding planner said the moment she saw the venue, “It is the best country club venue I have ever seen, down to the attention to décor details”.

The week before the wedding, I had an unfortunate event occur with my mother in regards to the financial aspect of the event. I won’t get into details because it was extremely hurtful, but my wedding planner and Mother-in-Law let Amanda know what was going on. Not only did Amanda and her team figure out a solution, but they let me know to not worry about one thing that everything was under control and would be ok. The days leading up to the wedding, Amanda was only worried about me. They asked me what my boundaries were and she made it clear to everyone on the team to keep an eye out for me. Amanda checked on me multiple times throughout the night of the rehearsal dinner and continuously on the wedding day. When I tell you things were going sideways real quick, they could have, but Amanda literally saved my wedding day. Right before I got engaged, I lost my father and a few years before that I lost my big sister. Amanda knew I was worried about the emotional aspect of the day, I will never forget her kindness and grace she showed me throughout this entire planning experience. She will forever be engrained in my heart and a lifelong friend. Amanda, I love you so much!

Maelee is another person I will never forget at GTC. She is the Food and Beverage Manager. Not only does she manage an excellent team, you can tell everyone in the Food/Beverage department at GTC has a solid team feel to them, and I credit that to her. Maelee made sure I never went hungry, and most importantly, never ran out of my favorite wine! Like a lot of brides, I wanted two signature cocktails and an open bar. They made sure my entire beverage list was fully stocked and put emphasis on my signature cocktails. For our plated menu, I had a dream of recreating our first date meal (filet and seabass) that we had at Blue Ridge Grill back in 2015. Maelee and her team made it happen. Maelee also was a point person, along with Amanda, that made sure our night was everything we could have ever dreamt of. Thank you so much Maelee, I love you so much!

From my guests point-of-view: We had people fly in from all around the U.S. and from many walks of life. From CEOs of massive companies to older family and friends to our young, rowdy friends, not ONE person had a complaint. Still to this day I am told that this was one of the best weddings our guests have ever attended. From the attention to detail to the space, everything went off flawlessly. If there was an issue that day, I honestly had no idea.
I have shared this venue with so many people, even a friend that ended up getting married a few months before I did, and everyone has glowing reviews.

If you are thinking about touring or hosting your event at Governors Towne Club, please have ZERO reservations about this decision, it is the RIGHT ONE. Everything that went into this space was thought through, down to the velvet textured walls in the men’s room and the breathtaking bridal suite. The food was truly amazing. Amanda and her team worked seamlessly with my wedding planner and all of our vendors. I sit and daydream about our special day all the time and want to relive it again and again. I am so happy I went with Governors Towne Club, and you will be too.

You have been amazing to work with from our very first meeting. You made us feel so welcome at Governor’s Towne Club with your kindness and professionalism. Each step of the planning process was smooth, and we loved working with you. The entire staff at Governor’s were very helpful and accommodating throughout the day. The food was amazing, and our guests raved about how delicious the dinner was. Our guests were so impressed with the beauty of Governor’s and were in awe after they walked out onto the balcony and saw the beautiful golf course view. The ballroom was truly magical! The sun started shining through the windows in the grand ballroom just at the right time as we started dinner and the candlelight was beautiful once the sun went down. We are so pleased with the entire wedding day and the memories we created that will last a lifetime.

The venue itself is breath taking Beautiful! Amanda and her staff were awesome to work with and nothing short of Amazing! Factor In exceptional food, a cigar bar, cocktails and a Photobooth and our nuptials were taken to the next level after we said I Do!! The owner was also very kind and gracious during our rehearsal dinner and throughout the entire process. I highly recommend GTC for your wedding and beyond!
