When I requested to come and visit the venue they responded quickly. While there they were very accommodating and worked with our budget. We did not hire them because our budget didn’t seem to work with their price but I am very satisfied with how hard they tried to meet our budget.

The venue was beautiful and Lauraleigh was very responsive and easy to work with. They worked well with the caterer and other vendors.

This place was absolutely incredible. We could not have picked a better place. It was also a huge help that our catering company and DJ have done so many weddings at this venue before. We did the ceremony and the reception here and it worked out great. Nobody had to drive and Carriage Caterers transitioned everything very nicely while we were taking pictures outside. Highly recommend this venue to anyone looking in Galveston, TX.

Rachael the event coordinator is amazing! The venue is absolutely stunning! Our ceremony was going to be outside but a storm came in so we had to move it inside. Rachael made sure we had everything we needed the night before to reset the inside. Couldn't ask for a better venue!

This was a wonderful venue for a really great price! Rachael really helped us with everything that we needed. The venue was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. We were able to have our ceremony outside the venue at kempner park. Definitely recommend!

The venue is GORGEOUS! We had our ceremonyoutside in the park and the reception was inside. The building is so beautiful you don't need very many decorations. Vicky responds very quickly and is very accomodating.

Vicki was VERY easy to work with and very helpful with suggesting vendors and such. She even hooked me up with another bride getting married on the next day to share chair rentals for our outdoor ceremonies! The venue is absolutely beautiful on its own and requires very little decorations. With the LED uplights we used and the darkness of night, it was a very magical environment! The event manager was polite and very helpful throughout the day. We really appreciate the fact that she lit all of my candles on the tables for us while our ceremony was going on!! She did get a little impatient and miffed during cleanup, but I'm sure dealing with drunk people every weekend gets a little old after a while. The pergola was beautiful and I'm sure we will have tons of beautiful photos with all the natural scenery the park provides. Overall we had a great experience using The Garten Verein as our wedding venue!

What a joy to work with the Galveston Historical Society, and specifically Vicki, who provided wonderful advice and guidance. The setting was beautiful and the entire process, and staff, were wonderful. The liscense agreement made it easy to know what was required of us to rent this beautiful building. Two different times Vicki was able to meet us at the Garten Verein at the last minute which was greatly appreciated. Vicki was so willing to help in any way she could. The floor plan, given in the packet, made it easy to work with the florist and the linens provider to get the set up details worked out ahead of time. Vicki helped with contacting the City of Galveston for the use of Kempner Park for the wedding ceremony and the Galveston Police department for our security officers. Such a beautiful venue and wonderful people to work with makes for a lovely, lovely wedding.

This venue is beautiful, and compared to other local options, very affordable. It had plenty of room, the Historical Society staff was easy to deal with, and I had complete control over what vendors I wanted to use. Also, they just put in a beautiful new hardwood floor. I like the setting in the park, but as a warning to people from out of town, there are some transients that hang out in the area so be sure that your guests remember to lock their vehicles (one family member had a purse stolen). Overall I am quite pleased with my experience with the Garten Verein, and I would be happy to work with them again.

This venue was beautiful and gave us the best bang for our buck. They even upgraded the chairs about a week before our wedding which saved us a ton on chair covers. They were super flexible with the times we rented as it rained the morning of the wedding and the ceremony had to be moved indoors. Would definitely recommend them to a friend.
