I knew that For the Love of Sugar made delicious vegan cakes, so it was an easy choice to hire them to make our wedding cake! What I was not expecting was how beautifully our cake would turn out! It was absolutely stunning. Manal really listened and clarified what I was picturing, and the end result was so beautiful! Our guests also loved the cake (and didn't notice it was vegan).

Sarah at For the Love of Sugar is amazing! From the initial contact with her to the day after the wedding, she was excellent to work with! We initially choose a few flavors and met at her house to sample her cupcakes. She’s definitely known for her cupcakes (her red velvet are to die for), wonderful frosting, and beautiful designs. We decided to do a small cutting cake on top of a cupcake tower for our wedding “cake.” She was full of suggestions and after we decided what we wanted, she spent time designing individual flowers and emailing pictures to me so that I could make a decision on the final product. With her, you are able to make design changes up to 2 weeks before the wedding (which is good since we booked well in advance and wasn’t sure what flavors and designs we wanted that early in the planning). We had a small wedding (70 people) and ordered 100 cupcakes. Family and friends were hunting us down the day after the wedding looking for extras, but there weren’t many. Definitely book Sarah – you won’t regret it! I will definitely use her again!

Her specialty is cupcakes, but she can do cookie favors and cake as well. Cake decorating is definitely her forte, but the cakes, fillings, and frostings are all fresh and delicious as well. I gave her an inspiration image, and she took it from there, producing exactly what we wanted. I wanted cream cheese frosting for my outdoor, august wedding, and she agreed as we pushed the delivery back to early evening and promised a shady area for the cake table. While putting together the contract, she threw in fondant over the cream cheese frosting for free, as she wanted to make sure the cake stayed pretty and safe to eat. On top of it all, I found that she is definitely one of the most affordable bakers in the area.

We went with FTLOS for our wedding cake, and it turned out wonderful. FTLOS is one of our favorite bakeries, and we were really excited to see how they translated their individual cake slices into a big wedding cake. We were not disappointed. It tasted and looked beautiful. Their store is a little busy at times, and it was a little difficult to get clear answers in person. But over email, they were incredibly helpful and responsive--all on a very tight timeline (we procrastinated getting our wedding cake...). We went back and forth multiple times about size/price/decoration/flavor options, and finally landed on something we were happy with. The process over email was very, very smooth and the pricing was very transparent.

If you're looking for a cake that your guests will remember--not only how it looks, but how it tastes--then we highly recommend FTLOS!
