About

Ideally situated next to the Historic Strand District, the Tall Ship Elissa and Galveston Cruise Terminal, enjoy waterfront dining at Fisherman’s Wharf. One of the best seafood restaurants in Galveston, Fisherman’s Wharf is a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal with all dining areas indoor or outdoor on the patio offering a view of the bay. Known for its famous Shrimp Kisses (bacon-wrapped and stuffed with jalapeño Jack cheese), selection of daily fresh fish, signature combination platters, and more.

A Texas sized establishment perfect for one or one hundred, Fisherman’s Wharf is a legacy of great seafood since the 1940s. The site originally housed a shrimp and fish “factory” – an old tin building where mountains of Gulf shrimp were readied for shipment across the country. Shrimp from this very place was served to President John F. Kennedy at the White House. In 1966, the current building was constructed to meet the growing demand for Galveston shrimp, which many have acclaimed as the “best shrimp on Earth.” The proprietor’s wife started serving Shrimp Po-boys to the workers in 1970, and the rest is history!

We had our ceremony and reception here after my friend telling me she'd attended a wedding here before. It was absolutely wonderful! The manager Farhad and banquet coordinators Kami and Leslie did an amazing job and went out of their way to make sure everything was just the way we needed it to be!

Had a great dinner at this restaurant. They had tables set up for all of us and a place set up for wedding cake. We even got to eat out on the wharf which was great. The lady that helped me making the arrangements was Julie. Very helpful and friendly

This place was great! We had our rehearsal dinner
(the night before our wedding) out on the patio. Beautiful view. The manager was very nice. They had 2 servers for 37 people but they did an amazing job. They kept up on drinks and the food came out quick and all at one time! Great place definitely recommend!!

Overall, my wedding reception here was great. There were a few inconveniences however. Pros were the low cost, included linens and centerpieces, their flexibility with my requests, and quick responses. The cons were that they changed the event coordinator less than a month before my wedding and I was not told and did not know until I emailed the original coordinator and was referred to the new one. This did cause a few hiccups. The other con was that there were a few surprise costs. Having never planned a wedding before I did not think to ask for a detailed cost list and to sign a contract, but this is what I would recommend to other brides. All in all, my reception was beautiful, had a unique atmosphere, and was affordable and we had many, many compliments on the food. I also like that my husband and I can return to the restaurant which is not something you can do with venues that are strictly for weddings.

Absolute worst kind of business

LOL that this place is on weddingwire when they completely refused to turn down the blaring music for our wedding ceremony next door. Nobody was even out there eating, but they said it could not (more like didn’t care to) be done. How is it impossible to turn down your music for someone’s most important day? Incredibly rude and heartless.
