Hello!
After earning my BFA in photojournalism from the Corcoran College of Art & Design, I completed a few internships, assisted established photographers, and managed a studio before I officially set sail on my own and launched Erika Nizborski Photography in 2013.
Here I am, living the dream—I've followed my passion! Every day, I strive to learn new techniques and continue to grow as an artist. My main subject is people, and dynamic portraiture is one of my favorite things to photograph. I consider it a huge honor to document moments in your life that you will cherish forever. It's really important to me that I get to know you so I can capture something real. It takes patience and time to accomplish the work that I create.

Best Wedding Vendor, Stunning Photos
Not only is Erika a talented photographer, she’s just who you need on your wedding day. I had some issues with my wedding coordinator during my wedding day and Erika and her second shooter (Katie) really stepped up to take control. Couldn’t have asked for a better professional. I love her photojournalism style, she captured those candid moments beautifully. We also did an engagement session with Erika and I recommend all couples do this.

Erika is worth more than she charges!
We felt really lucky Erika was available to do our engagement and wedding photos. We had gotten estimates from other photographers and her rates were very reasonable. My husband and I are normally very awkward in photos, but Erika made us both feel relaxed and comfortable during our engagement session - we actually had fun! She went out of her way to attend the walkthrough of our venue without charging any extra. I was so grateful she was by our side day of the weddng - she was such a calm presence for me as I finished getting ready, she had some great tips throughout the day. She was so inconspicous during the ceremony (very quiet shutter!), but caught some fantastic moments. On top of it all, Erika was so quick to turn around photo highlights from the day! It was so nice to be able to share them with our friends and family almost immediately. We're glad she does family portaits too, and will definitely hiring her for future family milestones!

Hire Erika!
We’re so happy we hired Erika to photograph our wedding. She has a great eye for candids as well as composed shots, and did a great job with the tricky lighting and backgrounds of the Tabard Inn. Beyond that, she was a joy to meet with and a great help with talking us through wedding day logistics, from the timeline to the shot list. When we first contacted her, she suggested meeting up to discuss her plans and the type of aesthetic we were going for, which was a great help. It was clear from her varied portfolio and experience as a photojournalist that she could capture those elusive magical moments and some great candids, so we booked an eight hour session as well as an engagement shoot. We highly recommend the engagement shoot - it gave a good opportunity to practice being in front of the camera together, and she arranged some of our favorite photos into a very reasonably priced guest book. Erika was very responsive in the time leading up to the wedding, and was the MVP on the day of our wedding - from fixing boutonnieres to helping us mind bouquets.

Erika helped make our day magical! True professional
Erika is and was amazing! From our first email, to our first phone call to our first save the dates photos, to engagement photos and than finally the wedding ! She was a pleasure to work with. She is professional, kind, determined to get the perfect shot. We can’t say enough about her!
She made us feel like family as soon as we met her! We had so much fun running around the city for the pride parade to catch the perfect engagement photos and than the wharf where it ended with fireworks!
The wedding was amazing! Being almost 9 months pregnant, Erika didn’t miss a beat! The highlights of photos we received are so beautiful. In my opinion magazine worthy!! (Not because we are in it but because she took the pictures).

Erika is the best!!
Let me save you some time - book Erika for your wedding! She took both rehearsal and wedding photos for us, and we could not be happier. On a stylistic level, Erika understood what we were looking for, and her photos were a beautiful blend of candid and posed photos as well as setting and people shots. She very effectively captured genuine emotion and the joy and beauty of the weekend. On an interpersonal level, she brought a calm and reassuring presence to what can be a very busy day. She dealt with the many different personalities (from family members to wedding planners) very well - she is clearly an expert in weddings and wedding photography. We were thrilled to get “sneak peek” photos the day after, and our full rehearsal/wedding photos within a month of the wedding. Would absolutely work with her again!

Great to work with!
I can't recommend Erika enough, she was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She's was responsive and flexible with our requests and schedule, but also helped to point out any scheduling or logistical details that we didn't think of; which was super helpful. She scouted the venue a a few weeks before so she knew exactly what spots she wanted to photograph us at on the big day; which helped save time when it came time to do the first look and family portriats.
The photographer has a tough job on the wedding day to wrangle people together and make sure she's getting all the photos the couple asked for. Erika was great at this. She's also a teacher; which was evident as she tried to herd our families into photos while directing others to stay nearby. Not an easy task!
The photos we received were beautiful. We have wonderful portraits of us and our families as well as really authentic pics of genuine facial expressions and fun moments we can look back on forever. Would highly recommend Erika for your big day!

World Class Service

Awesome photographer & beautiful shots!
Erika was our photographer for our wedding in December 2018, and she was fantastic! We loved working with her, from her easy and quick communication before the wedding, to her great shots at the wedding, and finally to the speedy delivery of beautify photos after (she sent us a preview set of about 25 edited photos just a couple of hours after the wedding!) She was great at getting all the moments we wanted captured, and corralling people for our group shots. We're so happy with how the photos turned out, and I highly recommend her!
