I couldn't possibly say enough good things about D.W. Henderson Jewelers. They are everything that a jewelry store should be. It's the only place I shopped where they truly understood that jewelry is a whole experience, not just a product. It's a family run operation and they give the very definition of personal service. I went in once and the next time I came back weeks later, they immediately recognized me and greeted me warmly by name. No one walks in the door without a very warm greeting as though they were a friend of the family. Shopping for an engagement ring was a difficult process for me until I found David and Krista and Kathy and Peggy at DW Henderson. First off, they were more interested in stories about me and my (then) fiance than they were interested in my price range. More than just helping me with the ring, they helped me figure out different ways to pop the question, and they really made the experience fun to even just think about.
When I told them my meager price range for the engagement ring, they never argued it for a second. David just sat down with me and talked out different design ideas and showed me examples of things he could do so I could have a way to talk to him about what I wanted. And then he said he'd create the ring we were talking about without me even putting any money down for it. He said if I didn't want it, he'd just put it in the case and sell it to someone else. But of course, it was beautiful and I bought it immediately when I saw it, and they charged me exactly the price that I said I wanted to pay, almost like it was a Priceline deal or something.
Following up with them to do the wedding rings was a pleasure and was shockingly easy. They had already picked out rings and ideas for us and has even already guessed (accurately) what our price range was going to be. So we ended up spending more time talking about what we were should do on our honeymoon in Hawaii than our rings. They even lent us a guidebook for Oahu to take with us on our honeymoon, which ended up being an essential tool for us.
I looked at a lot of jewelry stores when I was shopping, and I think there's beautiful jewelry all over the place. David, Kathy, Peggy, and Krista showed me how the romance gets put into the jewelry. Everything they do is done with so much care and love that it really does carry over to the jewelry. They make the experience of buying it a sweet experience so it makes the experience of giving it even sweeter.
