Hiring Matthew Casto as our wedding "DJ" saved my wedding and allowed me to sleep at night. Our wedding was to be a small, not so traditional, event more like an art opening and during most of the planning stages I was just going to set up a computer to run through a playlist. However, as time went on I began to worry about issues such as dealing with/renting the venue's sound system, having decent sound outside pre, during and post-ceremony and then inside the venue during dinner - not to mention how to tell the guests what was happening when and where. I contacted Matt just a few weeks before my wedding and he coordinated EVERYTHING. I have a long history in my family of a deep love and respect for music and Matt made sure my wedding reflected this. He found every song I wanted so he could ensure the best quality of sound and used the copies I gave him of the more obscure selections, coordinated with the venue - choosing in the end to use both of his sound systems (inside and out) - and acted as the master of ceremony by making sure all of my guests knew where everything was, smoothly transitioning from cocktails to the ceremony to taking pictures to dinner and then dancing. He read the crowd well and made sure everything went off without a hitch. In retrospect, he did so much more than what we paid him to do and I owe him my eternal gratitude. My wedding was exactly what I wanted it to be and most of that is due to Matt taking on so many hats. If I had not hired Matt I am certain that I would look back on my wedding day with regret instead of with the pride and happiness I feel now. He is a true professional and will go to great lengths to listen to what you want your day to be like and deliver. He has two sound systems as well as his own lighting.
