We hired Deejay Mot for our wedding day which happened to be on Labor Day. Many Dj’s were not available or simply over charged us due to the holiday. DJ Mot was very responsive and professional and had pricing that worked within our budget. He provided us with a questionnaire to get the details of the playlist we wanted for the big day, it had all the right questions to ensure the vibes were right. The playlist for our wedding was the perfect fusion of our Haitian and American cultures. The music was a vibe all night and we received so many compliments from guests. He came with his own dj set up which complimented the decor for the night so well. We had the perfect blend of 90’s R & b, Kompa, and more. We’re so happy to have booked with him and highly recommend that you do too, you will not regret it!

...that is what I was told from guests! Mott DJ'd for our multicultural wedding and It's clear that providing the entertaining comes natural to DJ Mott as my family and friends weren't able to stay off the dance floor for long. Above all, I needed our loved ones to have FUN. I was witnessing people on their feet all night that I haven't seen dance in YEARS! He is respectful, prompt, full of energy, professional, and an amazing human inside and out. Look no further, Book DJ Mott!

With regard to the booking process, Mot answered every question we had, and he just seemed like a genuinely good guy–a guy that we wanted to work with. He seemed incredibly competent, confident, and prepared to handle any and all crowds. He also said he was flexible with our requests and needs as a couple. All of this proved to be true.

The lead up to our wedding, Mot was extremely patient with us as we missed all of his deadlines, and he efficiently caught us up to speed over FaceTime when we finally gave him a moment. From there, he made sure he knew all our must-plays, our no-gos, and what we wanted out of the general arc of the evening: “an arc from like a Whitney Houston/Backstreet Boys/Earth Wind & Fire at 8pm, to when we hit like 9:30/45pm, we're rocking Dua Lipa, some old hip hop, T-Pain, Cruel Summer, Lizzo.” There was one night when I sent him an email at 9pm and I said, “Don’t play this song!!!” He responded 10 minutes later, saying, “You got it!”

In terms of adaptability, I first booked Mot for cocktail hour and reception. Then I told him he was just doing reception. Then 3 weeks before the wedding, I asked if he could do cocktail hour too. All of this was because I forgot to keep a tracker about who I booked for what. Mot took everything in kindness and stride, and was happy to do it all.

The night of our wedding, everything ran perfectly. This man is a genius at what he does. He checked in the appropriate amount, to gauge timing between toasts and dancing. Everyone was dancing, and the pictures demonstrate more chaotic energy than I could have ever asked for. At one point, I asked him to play “Bet on It” from High School Musical 2, and I swear, I have never heard a more lit track in my life. Turning Zac Efron into that kind of a jam is a SKILL you cannot measure.

Lastly, we asked him to run karaoke from 11pm - 12am. It was the most chaotic, extraordinary, hot mess one could ever imagine. We could never be more grateful to this gem of a man for making our wedding reception dreams come true.
