We had such a great experience working with Dedra for our wedding! Having a hair and makeup artist who is local to Vashon was such a bonus for our island wedding, and her pricing was comparable to other Seattle-based stylists we looked into.

From the beginning, Dedra was responsive, easy to communicate with, and flexible when it came to scheduling a preview. I really appreciated how well she listened to what I wanted and created a look that felt like me — nothing was overdone, and she worked beautifully with my natural curls rather than trying to change them completely.

On the wedding day, Dedra was able to accommodate hair and makeup for me and four additional people, and she coordinated bringing an assistant to help everything run smoothly. She was professional, friendly, and easy to have around during what can be a pretty hectic morning.

One helpful note for future brides is to make sure you share hair lengths and thicknesses with Dedra ahead of time. Having that information in advance can help her plan the timing and staffing for the morning accordingly.

Overall, I’m so happy with how my hair and makeup turned out and really appreciated Dedra’s calm, collaborative approach. She helped me feel like the best version of myself on our wedding day, and having someone local to Vashon made the whole experience that much easier!

Dedra did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I feel very grateful to have found her! She did such a wonderful job and I loved how everything turned out. She is clearly extremely experienced and it showed! What stood out most was how personable she is. She has a warm, calming presence and put me at ease right away. She really listened to my preferences and ideas and made sure that everything felt/looked good to me before finishing.

Dedra Dakota is the BEST hair and makeup artist! I was looking for someone to do my Wedding August 1 2026. I read that she had experience doing celebrity red carpet events in Hollywood! She made my wedding exceptional- she exceeded my hopes and dreams. She is very easy to work with, she is confident, calming, caring, talented and listens attentively to what you are trying to achieve ( she does a wonderful relaxed trial run with you) and then hits it out of the ballpark. All of her years working in Hollywood for red carpet events certainly shows. She is the utmost professional and talented. She does not over price her services: the value for what you get and the price point is very reasonable compared to other vendors! Her maturity level and experience working on tv shows and films out performs other make up artists ( my make up lasted from 3 pm to midnight flawlessly and I never had any touch ups). She put me at such EASE and it’s because of her I looked and felt my absolute best during my wedding day!!! She should be your first choice ❤️!

For both the trial and wedding day hair and makeup, she was open to my preferences and definitely cared that the final product was what I envisioned. Dedra and an assistant did hair and makeup for my wedding, which involved 3 mothers, 3 bridesmaids, 3 extra lashes for friends, and, of course, me, the bride!
I connected with Dedra because of her naturally beautiful aesthetic portfolio, her experience, and her professionalism. I highly recommend doing a test with any makeup artist before you hire them and that is what sealed the deal for me with Dedra. Dedra was incredible. Hands down.
My original artist fell through so I was frantically scrambling looking for someone. After inquiring all over I finally found Dedra. And even better she was already on Vashon island (where my venue was) and just had a cancellation on my day! It was meant to be.
She was so responsive and happy to answer all of my questions. She made me feel special and taken care of from the moment I made contact with her.
I definitely recommend doing a trial because we were able to not only figure out my hair and makeup, but we got to know each other a bit and it really made things so much better. I felt like I was able to make changes and she was more than happy to make any changes that I wanted. She truly puts the client first.
On the day of the wedding I wasn’t feeling great, but she was still able to make me feel like a bride getting ready. She talked me through my anxieties and took my mind off of everything going on at the venue. I was able to focus on myself and my bridesmaids, and it was amazing!
