Renaissance Pâtisserie

We wanted a wedding cake with a simple, elegant design within our budget. We found this bakery through a search engine and read reviews. They provided a tasting box that we were able to pickup and eat at home which was very convenient. It provided us with samples of the cake flavors, filling and frosting options.

We hired them last year for our small backyard wedding in Charlotte, and then couldn't find anyone better in Asheville for our celebration so we paid for them to deliver it to our venue. Last year's cake (the little one) was gorgeous and delicious. This year's was as well (a bit melty in the pictures because it was SO HOT that day). Due to dietary restrictions, we wanted a gluten free, dairy free, and corn free cake--and they not only did it, it was delicious. We went for chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and a coffee 'buttercream' frosting and it was just so tasty. I appreciate their reliability--the cakes have always been delicious (we've done some other moments with simpler cakes too).

Renaissance Patisserie really helped save our special day! About a month and a half out from our wedding, our planned cake baker dropped out, forcing us to really scramble. Thankfully, I found Renaissance Patisserie, and they were able to accommodate our short notice and set us up for great success! Compared to the numerous other bakers I looked into, I found Renaissance's prices by far the most agreeable. I greatly appreciated the manager Jo-Anne's straightforward and professional approach, immediately assisting me in finding ways to cut costs while still delivering a treat for our beloved guests. The final design was great and near identical to the one we had submitted as inspiration! And boy, was that icing to die for! I am grateful to Renaissance Patisserie for the role they played in our special day, and I would certainly recommend them for anyone who is looking for a fair price on a delicious cake!

I cannot recommend Decadent Designs Bakery enough to anyone looking for a delicious yet affordable wedding cake. My groom and I considered several bakeries but none compared to the quality, creativity and professionalism that Decadent Designs offered. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Jan and she knocked our socks off with the cake tasting provided. We visited the bakery and Jan provided us with a box that included labeled samples of each cake, filling and icing that they offer. In the comfort of home, we included two family members and enjoyed sampling and "voting" on our favorites. Everyone loved the almond pound with vanilla filling so that's what we went with! Jan made the process a breeze and the cake was amazing. My groom and I loved our cake so much that we broke tradition and ate the top tier the week after our honeymoon! Thanks to Decadent Designs and Jan, our wedding cake was not only beautiful but delicious, too!

Decadent Designs made a custom groomsman cake for my rehearsal dinner in October and it was absolutely perfect! A groomsman cake is mostly a southern tradition where the bride orders a cake that somehow represents the groom to bring to the rehearsal dinner. My fiancé had never heard of this tradition so he was totally surprised when he saw his cake! Decadent designs created a one of a kind "Spartan Race" (mud run) themed cake. My husband runs these races regularly and I thought he would get a kick out of seeing all of the edible obstacles on top of his favorite kind of sheet cake! The design was so creative and the added plus was that the cake was delicious! I got more comments on how good this rehearsal dinner cake tasted than I did on my wedding cake (which I had already ordered elsewhere before learning of Decadent Designs). I would recommend their services to anyone!!

Decadent Designs was absolutely awesome to work with! From the initial meeting to the wedding day, they make you feel important and like a valued customer. After meeting with other cake designers, it was so refreshing to find a place that seemed to really care about what my vision for the cake was and listen to what I wanted…all for a reasonable price! I love the way they do their cake tasting. You pay for a take home box of all the cake, filling, and icing flavors. You can then take your time tasting the different combinations and allow your friends and family to try them too, if you have a hard time choosing between all the delicious options! And if you choose to go with them, they give you credit for the price of the box to put towards the cake. When we met to go over what we wanted for the cake, they were super friendly and thanked us for choosing them. They looked at the pictures of the cakes we brought in and showed us the book of wedding cake they had done preciously to help with the designing of our cake. The cake turned out perfect and just as I had envisioned it. They worked with the florist to decorate it perfectly too. They delivered the cake and set it up too. They were a joy to work with and I would highly recommend them!

The cake for my daughter's wedding was exquisite!!! Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it was delicious and FRESH! The flavor combinations were wonderful. Our favorite part of choosing the cake was the cake tasting process. Bringing home the box with all of the flavors, fillings, and frostings was fun for everyone and made this a super easy experience! I would highly recommend this bakery to any bride.

I picked up a cake box from the bakery which had a multitude of icings, fillings, and cake to choose from. My fiance and I were initially overwhelmed with the sheer number of options we had to choose from. We were able to narrow our choices down to a select few, and have a design appointment scheduled for early January 2015. Jan was very sweet, polite, and professional during the times we spoke on the phone. She was flexible about penciling us in her diary (very cute!). We will be making our decision fairly soon regarding choosing our baker, and she is a top contender!

I cannot say enough good things about Jan and Decadent Designs! Our cake was not only delicious, but it was absolutely beautiful and the price was lower and the cake yummier than other area bakers we tried!

Decadent Designs also has the most fun tasting process! You get to take home a box with ALL the cake flavors, fillings and icings to taste in the comfort of your own home! No picking ahead of time!

This bakery will be our go-to for cakes for as long as we live in Charlotte, and I would hire them again for a wedding in a heartbeat.

The owner is the cutest woman ever! She helped us from cake testing to wedding day. Our wedding cake was everything that I had imagine and tasted like heaven!

They have many options for cake flavors and ALL of their cakes are amazing.

One thing that stood out for me was the cake testing process. I did not feel hassled or pressured or afraid to say I didn't like a cake. The reason for this feeling was the fact that they offer a box testing. They make a bunch of samples of cakes and let you take them home to try them. That way people who cannot come cake test with you can enjoy it at home. It was PERFECT! You could enjoy and take as much time as you wanted.

I would recommend this venue to ANYONE who needs a wedding cake!
