I could go on about Danya forever. She is a GEM! We hired Danya as our wedding photographer. She did our engagement photos along with our 2-day wedding event. My husband and I had an Indian + Chinese + American fusion wedding. It was a unique wedding and we had a lot of different elements which included Chinese Tea Ceremony, Mehndi night, a Baraat, choreographed performances, and lion dancers. Danya was able to keep up with our complicated order of events.

She is talented. Danya has a good eye and was able to manage our huge families and round people up to capture the perfect photo. She was very good at being able to command the situation to get the photos we needed while being friendly and approachable at the same time.

She is VERY responsive and organized which I greatly appreciated. We were able to get our full album in 2 weeks! Working with all the different vendors, Danya was by far the most professional, responsive, easy-to-talk-to, and most talented.

Additionally, she makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She is able to read different personalities very well. I'm not photogenic and was incredibly nervous and self-conscious during our first engagement photoshoot. However, she made me and my husband feel so comfortable by the end of it that we felt ready to become models!

We spent so much time together, almost felt like she was part of the family. We would definitely hire her again for future events. Highly recommend Danya! She has been an absolute joy to work with.

Danya is the best! My husband and I worked with her for our wedding at Nella Terra Cellars in May 2024. We are pretty introverted people by nature and had never been photographed professionally before - Danya made us feel extremely comfortable during our initial engagement shoot and at the wedding itself. She guided us through poses and locations and was very detail oriented, which put us at ease knowing that we didn't need to worry about the small details like whether an arm was awkward or a hair was out of place. She's very personable and will naturally make you laugh, which produces some great photos as well.

Coordinating logistics with her was very easy thanks to her professionalism and responsiveness. She proactively requested key information from us to ensure she was well-prepared for the day and captured everything we were hoping to get out of it, including must-have group shots, detail photos, etc. She also answered our many questions on locations and timelines, and always had a thoughtful recommendation based on her experience and expertise (lighting, etc.) when we weren't sure about something.

On top of all of the above, we absolutely loved the way our photos turned out. If we had to do our whole wedding over again, she would be the first vendor we'd re-sign in a heartbeat and we've recommended her to friends and family.

TLDR; Danya Chen Photography (Danya) captured our wedding moments that we will cherish for a lifetime and made us feel at ease with her experience, easy going demeanor. She has a great eye + editing skills and was professional throughout with excellent communication, timely gallery deliveries, and in general, just a really pleasant person to work with.

We first found Danya Chen Photography through Instagram. Instantly, we knew that her photography and editing style spoke to us. She was actually the first vendor we booked after our venue. We reached out to several photographers, but in the end, it was an easy choice to go with Danya and she absolutely delivered.

(1) Communication: After submitting a request form, Danya was prompt with her response, and we were able to set up a virtual meeting. We actually booked with Danya more than a year in advance of our wedding and were planning from out-of-state, but as the date drew closer, she kept on top of it, and got all the information she needed from us (wedding details, shot list, timeline), so that on the day of the wedding, we had no doubt she and her 2nd photographer would photograph everything we wanted whether it was a posed or candid shot.
(2) Vibe & Experience: From our intial meeting and engagement photo session (included with our wedding package), my husband and I immediately felt at ease with Danya. She was both personable and had a lot of experience. You know that feeling when a camera comes out and suddenly you don't know how to "act natural"? Even though my husband and I weren't naturals when it came to the more posed pictures, Danya easily guided us with her friendly demeanor and tips. It was obvious that she was a pro at photographing couples (height differences, best face side, hair placement, etc.). It was also a big bonus that Danya has a lot of experience under her belt so she had actually photographed quite a few weddings at our venue and knew how to deal with the outdoor ceremony elements and backlighting of the dinner reception room. Danya even came to our ceremony rehearsal and gave us instructions that ensured our ceremony flowed and allowed for good pictures without us having to be focused on that on the day of. Danya built quick rapport with our wedding party and knew everyone by name.
(3) Style: Of course, the first thing that drew us to Danya was her amazing photos. With just a quick look at her Instagram, you can see that she photographs a number of couples and their weddings so beautifully and her editing style is bright and airy.

On the day of, she and her 2nd photographer Chrystal worked efficiently and professionally, arriving at their set times and moved us along to stay on schedule and worked through the shot list. However, they were also in the background capturing lots of good candid moments of my husband and me, as well as the wedding guests. Despite the busy wedding season, Danya delivered a highlights gallery very quickly and then delivered the full gallery well within her promised timeline. When we look through the photos, we are instantly transported back to our various wedding moments and can't help but smile and reminisce. The flatlays and detail shots are lovely, but in particular, I love how she captured reactions to wedding speeches and everyone grooving on the dance floor. I also want to mention that the systems she has in place make it easy to access the photos and download.

My husband and I are the first among our friends to get married and have absolutely recommended her to our friends. Anyone would be lucky to book Danya as their wedding photographer!

We found Danya on IG and when we saw her work and we knew we wanted her as our photographer. We love her bright, airy, and whimsical photography style as it perfectly matched the aesthetic we were going for for our wedding.

After speaking with Danya on the phone, it solidified our decision; we loved how fun, easy going, and willing she was to answer each one of our many questions.

Our first in-person meeting was during our engagement shoot and she was AMAZING to work with. My husband and I are not very photogenic to say the least and she was able to pose us like we knew what we were doing!!! She was incredibly descriptive and ensured each limb was in the right position. Danya was so patient and made us feel so comfortable! The entire experience and environment was fun and relaxing! This made us so excited and less stressed out to shoot with Danya and her team for our wedding day!

As for the wedding, we really appreciated that we were able to fill out a questionnaire before the wedding with what shots we wanted. So Danya knew exactly what we wanted the day of the wedding. There was no confusion or questions asked and it was just go-go-go the day of and everything went so smoothly.

We started the wedding day with a shoot at the hotel. We did some bridal and groom photos and did some flat lays as well. The flat lays were so artistically placed and now able view all the keep sakes i.e wedding cards, jewelry, in a photo!

As for the wedding itself, Danya was not only a photographer that day, but also a conductor! She was able to command multiple groups of rowdy family and friends with ease and poise. Our wedding photos came out BEAUTIFULLY and our family and friends still rave about it to this day! Again, Danya is an expert in describing what each person needs to do to get these amazing shots. She simply does not come to merely point and shoot during a wedding; her photos are carefully but efficiently curated when possible and it absolutely reflects in her work.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that I started getting nervous during our sunset photos, just due to all the wedding attention and jitters; but Danya was able to calm me down. She was able to remind me that we are just having fun and started to joke around and somehow got my mind off the whole thing. Danya is so empathetic in nature and this made me feel so happy that we decided to go with her. Sometimes folks forget that the bride and groom are human too, and it was nice to have someone there to be an advocate for us during the wedding.

Overall, Danya was worth every single penny and she is a TRUE GEM in the wedding industry! Her artistic eye and strong directional skills made our photos look out of this world!! I smile every time I see our engagement and wedding photos :)!

Danya is an incredible photographer and so amazing to work with! She photographed another family wedding in 2019 and we loved her work and decided to hire her for our wedding at Nella Terra. She is extremely professional but also really relatable, easy to work with, and just fun to talk to and be around :) She always came prepared for our pre-wedding meetings and knew our venue inside out and was very attentive to all the small details laid out in our wedding timeline. She worked seamlessly with our other vendors and gave us great tips and guidance during our photoshoots. Also, if you have a dog that you would like to be a part of your engagement or wedding photos, she is the perfect photographer! She was great with our very hyper pup and was able to get some amazing shots of the three of us. Her photos are framed all around the house and we could not have asked for a better photographer for our special day! We hope to keep her in the family for all future photo shoots :)

Hire Danya! She took our engagement and wedding photos and did an amazing job. When my wife and I were first researching photographers, Danya’s portfolio definitely stood out. Her style is very bright, modern, and timeless. We also noticed that even in big group photos, no one was blinking (we noticed other photographers’ portfolios had at least one person blinking). After receiving all of our wedding photos, which took a little over six and a half weeks, they exceeded our expectations!
