The band plays well in general but their song list is limited. Some communication problems we encountered. The band leader responded to emails quickly but often missed outs questions we had asked. So we needed email few more times to get the questions fully answered.
Our reception program was clearly communicated and confirmed via emails prior to our wedding day. A detailed program was emailed to the band leader with choices of songs for our big entrance, first dance and father-daughter dance. The band leader claimed 2 out 3 songs we chose were not their strong suit, so we made changes to our song list and picked all the songs from the band's play list. The band leader then emailed us back and told us no problem with our updated song list.
On our wedding day, the band didn't play anything when we were able to enter the banquet room. When our MC cue the band to play the song we selected for our big entrance, the band leader acted clueless and asked the MC, "what song would you like me to play? the couple didn't tell me what song they like for their big entrance".....This is totally not professional! Another unprofessional approach noticed was that we chose the song "Unforgettable" for our father-daughter dance but the band played the song at least once prior to the actual dance.
Clients choose a certain song for a specific program content, that means the song has specific meaning to them. The band should make the song special for their clients and save it for that special moment. Either the band leader was just careless or the band's play list is really limited.
