Danna Marie Pantzke is an extremely versatile mezzo-soprano who transitions from Musical Theatre to Classical to popular styles with grace and depth. She has been praised for her unique sound, impeccable diction, and genuine characterizations. Danna lives and works primarily in the Washington DC area. She received her Master of Music degree in Opera/Music Theatre Performance from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She holds her Bachelor degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota.
Danna has been featured as a soloist with the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra performing selections from Bizet's Carmen. As a stage actress, Danna has had the privilege of performing several lead and supporting roles. Some of her favorite musical performances include: The Drowsy Chaperone (Drowsy), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Rona Lisa Peretti and Olive Ostrovsky), Songs for a New World, and The Producers (Hold Me, Touch Me). Opera performances include: Gianni Schicchi (Zita), The Old Maid and the Thief(Miss Todd), and Suor Angelica (Mistress of the Novices). For a number of years, Danna also performed regularly with the band, October Road. They recorded multiple CDs and toured throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Montana, and the Dakotas. They shared many exciting opportunities including opening for artists such as Billy Currington, Jessie Alexander, and Jon Randall; and playing on the main stage at WE fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
