I'm a professional wedding videographer, and have been since 1988, when I started my first production company. My first 2 weddings were at the Sea Island resort in Georgia, and I can't tell you how many fabulous weddings my company has done there. We did the weddings for both our state senators' children, and the great grandson of Winston Churchill. Former President Jimmy Carter was the godfather of another bride, and I did Angelina Jolie's executive secretary's wedding a few years ago. I was sworn to secrecy on that, and I have six minutes of footage of Miss Jolie and Maddox on the dance floor - beautiful! But no one else can see it!! I hope she'll call me to do her wedding one day. I encourage you to get a demo from me or anyone else you are considering, and a full length one at that, so you can really see the type of shooting, editing and sound you can expect. But whoever you choose, get this event preserved on DVD's. Make realistic choices of where you can cut back in other areas to get this captured by a professional videographer. Many brides I've met with agree that you should not spend any more on a photographer than you do on the video. The groom and his friends will barely glance at pictures, but will gladly watch the DVD, especially where they are cutting up!
