Hi, I’m Derek, the filmmaker behind D. James Videography. I’m based in Tucson, Arizona, and I’ve had the privilege of filming weddings throughout Southern Arizona, Phoenix, and beyond.

After more than 15 years working in wedding and commercial filmmaking, I’ve learned that the most meaningful moments are often the ones that happen naturally—the nervous excitement before the ceremony, a parent’s expression, an unexpected laugh, or the quiet look you share when no one else seems to be watching.

My goal is to create a wedding film that feels like you. I want it to bring back not only how your wedding looked, but how it felt to be there. I approach every wedding with care, paying attention to both the major moments and the smaller details that can easily pass by during such a full and emotional day.

Afterward, I personally select and edit the strongest footage into a cinematic film that tells your story in an honest and meaningful way. Depending on the package you choose, coverage can include drone footage, an additional videographer, extended filming time, a cinematic highlight film, and full-length edits of your ceremony and reception moments.

It’s an honor to be trusted with something this personal, and I never take that responsibility lightly. My hope is to give you a film that brings you back to your wedding day for many years to come.
