Hi, I’m Derek, the filmmaker behind D. James Videography, the wedding brand of BlindShade. I’m based in Tucson, Arizona, and I’ve had the privilege of filming weddings throughout Southern Arizona, Phoenix, and beyond.

After more than 15 years working in wedding and commercial filmmaking, I’ve learned that the most meaningful moments are often the ones that happen naturally—the nervous excitement before the ceremony, a parent’s expression, an unexpected laugh, or the quiet look you share when no one else seems to be watching.

My goal is to create a wedding film that feels like you. I want it to bring back not only how your wedding looked, but how it felt to be there. I approach every wedding with care, paying attention to both the major moments and the smaller details that can easily pass by during such a full and emotional day.

Afterward, I personally select and edit the strongest footage into a cinematic film that tells your story in an honest and meaningful way. Choose from three packages: Elopement ($1,800, 4 hours), Essential ($2,600, 6 hours), or Premier ($3,800, 8 hours with two videographers). Every package includes 4K video, drone footage, multi-camera coverage, professional audio, and digital delivery. The package details below explain the films and ceremony or toast coverage included.

Booking requires a signed contract and a 25% deposit. Additional coverage is $100 per hour. An optional 2-minute social reel in both square and vertical formats is $250.

Film turnaround is 8–10 weeks. Still photography, raw footage, and streaming are also available; ask for details when planning your coverage.

A $100 travel fee applies outside the Tucson area within Arizona. Out-of-state travel charges are quoted separately.
