The main hall is a beautifully designed space large enough for groups of up to 415 people. Have a smaller crowd? No problem! The main hall can be made more intimate by using high-class red drapes. The area features a unique black and white tiled flooring, a perfect blend to go along with the old town setting. The ambiance of your special occasion is enhanced by over 600 feet of tract lighting, controlled with dimmers, giving your event just the right feel.

I live in Wisconsin but wanted to get married where I grew up in Minnesota. Brit and Classic Hall were the LEAST stressful part of all my planning. Even though most of my planning was done long-distance, Brit made me feel at ease through every step and I was thrilled with how everything turned out! Her referrals for other vendors in the area also helped a lot!

The Classic Hall is a fun venue that has a lot to offer. They have a bunch of different packages to choose from and will cater to your needs. Britt is super helpful and really gave me a bunch of pointers in the beginning of the wedding planning processes as I had no clue where to even start. She is aways avaliable to answer any questions you might have. My wedding isn't until May so I'm really looking forward to working more with Britt after the 1stime of the year.

We had our wedding reception at Classic Hall, and overall I was happy with how things went.

We booked the venue in 2013 and by the time of our wedding in 2014, the person in the event coordinator role had changed three times. It was a little frustrating to have the point-of-contact change so frequently, and some things slipped through the cracks when they were transitioning. They didn't document one of the deposits that we had paid, so I was glad I had kept everything well-documented on my end. There were other small issues and miscommunications the week of the wedding - details that we had discussed and nailed down with them were suddenly changed or they didn't have on file. It was frustrating and made us all nervous that things wouldn't go as smoothly for the reception as we hoped.

Once the day came, though, everything went really well. The building looked great, and all of our guests loved it. All of our vendors did an awesome job pulling things together, but it was especially nice to have someone from Classic Hall on staff that whole afternoon/evening to make sure that things went smoothly. We were really happy with the end result!

We picked this place as most of our family had not been there. Although it's one of the more pricey picks it was well worth it after all said and done. Large open area. They had everything we needed at the last minute. They can supply many things via renting. They had many suggestions to help us along the way. My only complaint is how expensive they are compared to everywhere else in the area, but after having the wedding there...I can see why it is that way and we couldn't have picked a better location!

Okay Experience

Booked 2 yrs prior to wedding tried contacting many times no response. Finally 2 weeks before wedding she contacted me back I was getting so worried. But the day before setting up and the day of the wedding she was much help! Some things were going wrong with food and DJ she took them into her own hands and helped fix the issues.

Only a venue

First meeting with Owner/event coordinator we discussed how we would have assistance through the wedding process. Stated she would be setting up our taste testings through Classic Hall’s preferred caterers. I got fast responses at first but they gradually got forgotten about. We finally met in person to discuss the questions I had been asking but they were still ignored or worked around even in person. I was then thinking maybe just maybe she was typing it all and would send it in the email she said she would be sending so I could visually see later on. I asked for her ideas on decorations or packages they have and I stated I would like flowers in entry way but she pretty much said no one would care to have flowers there. I shrugged it off because well it’s probably true but later thinking it’s my wedding day and the decor means a lot to me. In that meeting she stated I would be setting up my own taste testings and I was actually relieved meaning I liked to get stuff done. I repeatedly asked for the preferred caterer list even prior to this meeting so I could do research on them and look for reviews but wasn’t till I threatened to cancel my contract that she finally told me who they were. She finally sent over the decoration packages also. What she failed to still send over was the account I was told she would send me well over year ago at that point and the email from the last meeting that she even stated I would have to sign to show I have received it. She tried telling me I didn’t give them the second chance she asked for but I did. I shouldn’t have to tell her what I had been asking for over and over again.

I finally got the courage and cancelled my contract. I asked for a refund knowing it was a (non-Refundable) deposit thinking maybe she would realize this was due to know fault of her own and do the right thing and return it but she didn’t. Hopefully she’ll be honest on Classic Hall facebook page and in future meetings that she does not provide an Event Coordinator. It’s only a Venue. Meaning that was the ending excuse as to why this didn’t go the way I wanted.

Proceed with Caution

My husband and I had our wedding at Classic Hall Event Center. Once our event had taken place my husband and I have agreed, we will not be doing ANY future business with the Classic Hall. I personally worked with Brit for about 6 months at the Classic Hall. During that time I learned a lot about Brit Haskins, this made me very sceptical to have our event at Classic Hall, but was too late as we had already put so much money down on our wedding.

We booked the ‘Elite’ Package ($2,800). I decided to not purchase the decor package as it was way too expensive ($3,000) so I did the decor myself. During the planning process Brit really never checked in with me and was not the easiest to get a hold of when I did have questions, she would always have an ‘excuse’ for her delayed responses and whether they were ever true or not is another story.

After multiple re-schedules to book our final walk through meeting to accommodate her schedule, at one point was suggested me to ride with her to another event location that was more important to her, we finally settled on meeting at 8:30PM on a Friday night. That night we choose Grain Belt Premium as our keg beer which was confirmed prior. Proceeding 5 days before our wedding told us Grain Belt Premium was not available.

Wednesday before our event we set up the decor, before we got there I got a text from Brit explaining 5 of the 15 linens wouldn’t be arriving until Thursday EOD as they were shipped ‘separately’. She then asked if I would be ok with her giving me the building key to close up as she had family obligations. That night I also mentioned to her that I had forgotten to give her my slideshow on a USB and she said “yeah we should test that to make sure it works” fast forward the night before our wedding telling me at 7:46PM that the slideshow needed to be on a DVD. This was not addressed during the two conversations I had with her nor the email I sent her with the slideshow as a backup.

Also that night I had noticed the linens that I had paid extra money for were not pressed and placed on the table straight from the package. I text Brit that night that the lines were not pressed she just replied that she didn’t have a way to press the linens. The next morning, I brought my own ironing board and iron to press the linens myself. I had left for an appointment meanwhile I got a message from Brit “Ummm..need my linens to set your tables…” once we got back from my appointment my MOH and I proceeded to press the linens while Brit tried to tell us a ‘smarter’ way to press the linens with her steamer.

Friday afternoon I had realized we didn’t have drinks for our guests during the grooms dinner. Brit never bothered to bring up this detail and was was not very accommodating when I was trying to solve this issue. Following this situation she proceeded to tell me how she had to cover for a different event and her assistant Emily would be taking over for the rest of our event (Blessing in disguise)

When we arrived to the grooms dinner I was greeted by the chef who proceeded to tell me that Brit had confirmed a couple days prior that we would be having ham dinner. As this was not the dinner we had picked and had always been a pasta dinner. Leaving the grooms dinner that night we still have two linens missing as the assistant said she had two of the linens at her house and at this point I didn’t know what was the truth.

I never felt like our event was a top priority for Brit and never once did she show any interest in our event. I was treated like an employee more than a client. I feel like this space was way over priced paying for a building with limited added service. (9K+) She will never owns up to her own mistakes when confronted and has an excuse for everything even though poor communication and reposes time is common feedback she gets from clients.

Future Brides proceed at your own risk, if you’re looking for immediate customer service this is not the place to book your wedding.

Brit is a cheat!

We went with Classic Hall because it's suppose to be a one stop shop. After numerous times contacting Brit on tasting food, she sent us an email stating she's unable to cater. Then, wanting a 20% per plate for outside caterer. No return on unused alcohol. Doesn't state anything in the contract either way. Vendors for alcohol can't deliver to Classic Hall, because she's delinquent with the MN department of revenue on taxes since Feb 22. Once on this list, she cannot purchase retail liquor, beer or wine for resale. Brit has purchased alcohol from liquor stores to resales to her clients, double dipping....Cashed our $500.00 security deposit check without no explanation. Brit is a cheat and evil person....
