I don't even know where to start. Cicada and the staff are absolutely amazing. Adelmo and Rich were super responsive to my fiance and I. They made the planning of our reception so easy. We had looked at so many venues before this and were getting very discouraged. The quality of what you get at Cicada, and the price, are unmatched anywhere else. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and was executed perfectly. Our guests loved it, and everyone commented on the level of service, the quality of food, and the charm and beauty of the venue.

We recently had our wedding in November at Cicada and it was perfect. Adelmo and his team did a great job with helping us come up with a vision, executing the set up/ambiance the day of, and were super easy to work with throughout the entire process. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything would go as smoothly as possible, and helped take a lot of the anxiety out of the planning process. The food was also excellent! Our guests loved how unique the venue was and service was fantastic. Parking in and around the area was also not an issue, which is rare a find for LA. Thank you Adelmo for everything and we hope to stop by on our anniversary for dinner sometime!

Long overdue review from our wedding 2 years ago. Over the top, authentically glamorous 1920s venue. Adelmo and Michelle were amazing, flexible and easygoing, very very fair and worked with our budget. I never thought I could afford such a classy place for 200 guests. The food was delicious, and our personal waiter was divine. He gave us tips before we sat down on how to best enjoy the night, which we thoroughly did. He followed us around and made sure our glasses were never empty and that we were taken care of. The service is beyond, they are PROS when it comes to weddings and special events, every table told me that their server was just as accommodating as ours. To this day, everyone still raves about the food and the fun they had at the Cicada for our wedding.

Adelmo and Richard were AMAZING! Our wedding was incredible. The food, the service, the venue- everyone has told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! It was the most amazing, magical night.

My husband and I just had our wedding here and it was AMAZING. From the very start, we were impressed - Cicada showed us a contract and a price list up front - something other venues tip-toed around us as they tried to convince us to spend more and more. They were able to accommodate our budget with a Friday wedding of about 75 guests. Everything was perfect and we could not have been more pleased. Our guests raved about the venue - it's beautiful, the staff is as professional as can be, and their glasses were never empty. Oh, and not to mention the food - fantastic! This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I cannot thank Adelmo, Richard, and Jeffery enough for making our wedding day the best day of my life. I would highly recommend Cicada to anyone looking for a wedding or event venue!

My husband and I wanted a romantic and unique wedding venue and Cicada Club provided just that. Adelmo was so amazing, he is very accommodating and so wonderful to work with. Our guest were blown away by how gorgeous the evening was and how delicious the food was. We got married May 2, 2015 and everyone is still talking about the food.

The most exciting part for my husband and I is that since this is a restaurant we can always go back for a yummy meal and relive the moment!

We had our wedding reception here in April - best choice ever! The space is beautiful, Adelmo was terrific and knowledgeable to work with throughout the process and his staff was incredibly organized and professional the evening of the event. I've never seen food be served to 200 people so quickly and smoothly! We loved the DTLA location and the art deco vibe of Cicada. Moreover, they worked with us to make everything work and work great! Our guests could not get over how beautiful the location was. There was plenty of space for the band, a big dance floor and dinner tables for all the guests in the downstairs location. Upstairs is an additional lounge area and bar which we had full access to as well. After the reception ended, we were able to use the second floor area for a fun after party. The best part is that Cicada knows how to do events so they are able to answer most of the questions before you even think to ask. Tables, chairs, linens, etc are all included so no need for lots of extra vendors, which is nice. Worked well with all of our ideas (example: projecting a silent film in the upstairs area during cocktail hour - they had a screen and everything already) and vendors - flowers, photo booth, cake - they even had all the platters and cake stands that we were able to use to decorate our cake table.

Highly recommend this spot for your wedding or large event.

STUNNING GLAMOROUS WEDDING VENUE!~ I just had my wedding ceremony and reception at Cicada I cannot thank them enough for a perfect dream wedding.!!! Adelmo and Richard and all of the staff are excellent professional and amazing.. From star to finish it was perfect and amazing.. Adelmo answered all of our questions and him and Richard are on point with the whole process ensuring everything runs smoothly. I had looked at several venues around LA and Cicada is by far the classiest most elegant and unique. It has stunning art deco decor and LALIQUE lighting in the amazing historic Oviatt building.. you cannot ask for a more impressive venue.. Everyone complimented how SPECTACULAR the venue was and we had very picky guests who most of them are in the event planning industry and they were all saying how fabulous it was... The food was just amazing.. from our tasting we had a hard time picking the menu because all the food was sooo delicious!! from the appetizers to the entree to the desserts it was just FABULOUS!!! The guest all raved about the food and appetizers saying it was the best they had ever had at a wedding.. .. At the ceremony the guests were in awe as they came into see the unique ceremony set up under the gorgeous chandelier. Everyone told me it was BREATHTAKING!! ... .. After the ceremony the guests made their way upstairs to the GLAMOROUS cocktail area. They were all loving it.. enjoying delicious appetizers and amazing drinks while listening to the Jazz ensemble.. Meanwhile the staff seamlessly transformed the downstairs area into this magical wonderful reception .. it was just GORGEOUS .like MAGIC ... . The team there is just amazing I would give them 10 STARS if i could simply OUTSTANDING!!!!. We just booked my wedding at Cicada for Labor Day weekend of next year (Sunday September 4, 2016) and I can honestly say the staff, especially Adelmo has been a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. He is a true gentlemen in his word and very professional when it comes to responding questions. Keep in mind that we brought quite a few family members to view the venue! And they had many questions and concerns. Adelmo was professional, flexible, kind, and eased our minds. We considered about 15+ other venues and had narrowed it down to Castle Green in Pasadena, but decided to check this place out before we made a final decision. As soon as we walked into Cicada there was no doubt this place was meant to be. We decided Cicada was it for us almost instantly. Definitely a unique kind of venue for a couple looking for a unique style, for us it was the most perfect fit. Like I said all other venues disintegrated in the back of my mind. I cannot wait to see what they do for us on our wedding day! Deserves a 10 star rating on decor itself!

We are still on a wedding high because Adelmo and the crew at the Cicada Club helped us throw the event of our lives. We have received countless compliments on the service, the food and clearly, the venue itself. We had some pretty harsh critics at our wedding and they even applauded how professional and kind every waiter was to the guests, every bartender and the delicious food! I had one guest tell me during the wedding it was the best filet he had had in years! The head waiter Jeffrey took care of our head table SO well, that not only did we give him a tip; unbeknownst to us, so did our best man! Even though we had the unfortunate luck of having the AC bust on a hot Saturday, thus a very hot ceremony, it couldn't take a bit a way from the spectacular (as our friends' have told us) wedding there!
