The Cicada Restaurant and Club is to proud to call one of LA’s most historic buildings its home. Built in 1928, The Oviatt Building is an enduring love-letter to the city’s glitzy heritage and the golden age of Hollywood. An Art-Deco masterpiece, guests will marvel at this downtown gem’s striking design. Bold geometric contours define the space which is decorated in tones of rich gold leaf and dark mahogany and accented by ornate Lalique sculpted glasswork. The spacious dance hall is entered by the grand staircase, an ideal backdrop for a glamorous wedding photoshoot. Overhead waterfall chandeliers hang gracefully from the raised ceiling as up to 500 invitees mingle and dance below. There is, of course, an expansive stage on which wedding entertainers can strut their stuff lit by professional standard lighting. The venue’s location in the heart of downtown LA makes it a central and accessible location in which to celebrate an unforgettable wedding. They offer an inclusive package that features a master of ceremonies to guide your night, a live band, bar services, and setup and cleanup of events. The venue’s event planner will work closely with couples to organize every detail of the reception, including creating a floor plan and sourcing furniture. The management can also provide catering services from the acclaimed in-house restaurant.
