I don't even know where to start. Cicada and the staff are absolutely amazing. Adelmo and Rich were super responsive to my fiance and I. They made the planning of our reception so easy. We had looked at so many venues before this and were getting very discouraged. The quality of what you get at Cicada, and the price, are unmatched anywhere else. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and was executed perfectly. Our guests loved it, and everyone commented on the level of service, the quality of food, and the charm and beauty of the venue.

We recently had our wedding in November at Cicada and it was perfect. Adelmo and his team did a great job with helping us come up with a vision, executing the set up/ambiance the day of, and were super easy to work with throughout the entire process. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything would go as smoothly as possible, and helped take a lot of the anxiety out of the planning process. The food was also excellent! Our guests loved how unique the venue was and service was fantastic. Parking in and around the area was also not an issue, which is rare a find for LA. Thank you Adelmo for everything and we hope to stop by on our anniversary for dinner sometime!

We just booked my wedding at Cicada for Labor Day weekend of next year (Sunday September 4, 2016) and I can honestly say the staff, especially Adelmo has been a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. He is a true gentlemen in his word and very professional when it comes to responding questions. Keep in mind that we brought quite a few family members to view the venue! And they had many questions and concerns. Adelmo was professional, flexible, kind, and eased our minds. We considered about 15+ other venues and had narrowed it down to Castle Green in Pasadena, but decided to check this place out before we made a final decision. As soon as we walked into Cicada there was no doubt this place was meant to be. We decided Cicada was it for us almost instantly. Definitely a unique kind of venue for a couple looking for a unique style, for us it was the most perfect fit. Like I said all other venues disintegrated in the back of my mind. I cannot wait to see what they do for us on our wedding day! Deserves a 10 star rating on decor itself!

Adelmo and Richard were AMAZING! Our wedding was incredible. The food, the service, the venue- everyone has told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! It was the most amazing, magical night.

My husband and I just had our wedding here and it was AMAZING. From the very start, we were impressed - Cicada showed us a contract and a price list up front - something other venues tip-toed around us as they tried to convince us to spend more and more. They were able to accommodate our budget with a Friday wedding of about 75 guests. Everything was perfect and we could not have been more pleased. Our guests raved about the venue - it's beautiful, the staff is as professional as can be, and their glasses were never empty. Oh, and not to mention the food - fantastic! This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I cannot thank Adelmo, Richard, and Jeffery enough for making our wedding day the best day of my life. I would highly recommend Cicada to anyone looking for a wedding or event venue!

My husband and I wanted a romantic and unique wedding venue and Cicada Club provided just that. Adelmo was so amazing, he is very accommodating and so wonderful to work with. Our guest were blown away by how gorgeous the evening was and how delicious the food was. We got married May 2, 2015 and everyone is still talking about the food.

The most exciting part for my husband and I is that since this is a restaurant we can always go back for a yummy meal and relive the moment!

STUNNING GLAMOROUS WEDDING VENUE!~ I just had my wedding ceremony and reception at Cicada I cannot thank them enough for a perfect dream wedding.!!! Adelmo and Richard and all of the staff are excellent professional and amazing.. From star to finish it was perfect and amazing.. Adelmo answered all of our questions and him and Richard are on point with the whole process ensuring everything runs smoothly. I had looked at several venues around LA and Cicada is by far the classiest most elegant and unique. It has stunning art deco decor and LALIQUE lighting in the amazing historic Oviatt building.. you cannot ask for a more impressive venue.. Everyone complimented how SPECTACULAR the venue was and we had very picky guests who most of them are in the event planning industry and they were all saying how fabulous it was... The food was just amazing.. from our tasting we had a hard time picking the menu because all the food was sooo delicious!! from the appetizers to the entree to the desserts it was just FABULOUS!!! The guest all raved about the food and appetizers saying it was the best they had ever had at a wedding.. .. At the ceremony the guests were in awe as they came into see the unique ceremony set up under the gorgeous chandelier. Everyone told me it was BREATHTAKING!! ... .. After the ceremony the guests made their way upstairs to the GLAMOROUS cocktail area. They were all loving it.. enjoying delicious appetizers and amazing drinks while listening to the Jazz ensemble.. Meanwhile the staff seamlessly transformed the downstairs area into this magical wonderful reception .. it was just GORGEOUS .like MAGIC ... . The team there is just amazing I would give them 10 STARS if i could simply OUTSTANDING!!!!. We had our wedding reception here in April - best choice ever! The space is beautiful, Adelmo was terrific and knowledgeable to work with throughout the process and his staff was incredibly organized and professional the evening of the event. I've never seen food be served to 200 people so quickly and smoothly! We loved the DTLA location and the art deco vibe of Cicada. Moreover, they worked with us to make everything work and work great! Our guests could not get over how beautiful the location was. There was plenty of space for the band, a big dance floor and dinner tables for all the guests in the downstairs location. Upstairs is an additional lounge area and bar which we had full access to as well. After the reception ended, we were able to use the second floor area for a fun after party. The best part is that Cicada knows how to do events so they are able to answer most of the questions before you even think to ask. Tables, chairs, linens, etc are all included so no need for lots of extra vendors, which is nice. Worked well with all of our ideas (example: projecting a silent film in the upstairs area during cocktail hour - they had a screen and everything already) and vendors - flowers, photo booth, cake - they even had all the platters and cake stands that we were able to use to decorate our cake table.

Highly recommend this spot for your wedding or large event.

We are still on a wedding high because Adelmo and the crew at the Cicada Club helped us throw the event of our lives. We have received countless compliments on the service, the food and clearly, the venue itself. We had some pretty harsh critics at our wedding and they even applauded how professional and kind every waiter was to the guests, every bartender and the delicious food! I had one guest tell me during the wedding it was the best filet he had had in years! The head waiter Jeffrey took care of our head table SO well, that not only did we give him a tip; unbeknownst to us, so did our best man! Even though we had the unfortunate luck of having the AC bust on a hot Saturday, thus a very hot ceremony, it couldn't take a bit a way from the spectacular (as our friends' have told us) wedding there! I want to thank Cicada for making our night so special. I imagine they have a lot of events but they made us feel as we were the most important people and group to Cicada. The staff was excellent, professional and gave great service. Richard and Michel rolled with the punches with the changing head count, the pesky photographer, the late start (due to the pesky photographer), the inserted poem by the minister and the surly back row that didn’t realize they were the front row for the band when the curtain opened.

Cicada made our event spectacular and flawless. They are true professionals and I will be happy to refer future business and come back for dinner soon.

Long overdue review from our wedding 2 years ago. Over the top, authentically glamorous 1920s venue. Adelmo and Michelle were amazing, flexible and easygoing, very very fair and worked with our budget. I never thought I could afford such a classy place for 200 guests. The food was delicious, and our personal waiter was divine. He gave us tips before we sat down on how to best enjoy the night, which we thoroughly did. He followed us around and made sure our glasses were never empty and that we were taken care of. The service is beyond, they are PROS when it comes to weddings and special events, every table told me that their server was just as accommodating as ours. To this day, everyone still raves about the food and the fun they had at the Cicada for our wedding.

I loved our venue! From the moment we visited Cicada for the first time 11 months prior to our date, I fell in love with it immediately. The art deco decor and design just oozed class and fit the vibe that we wanted for our wedding. The 2nd floor bar sealed the deal for us as it just seemed so perfect and we knew our guests would love it. Beyond the look and feel of the place, our host Adelmo was amazing. He put our minds at ease from the first time we met him and was always available to answer questions throughout the planning process. We were also able to visit frequently with our coordinator to go over details. The food tasting was handled professionally and the food and wine were great. We were so happy with our menu. Lastly, the service was nothing short of spectacular. Between the ceremony and the reception, the staff transformed the room quickly and turned it into an amazing reception venue. The staff was so professional and catered to the needs of all of our guests. It felt like a fine dining establishment rather than a wedding venue. Several of our guests came up to us to say how much they loved everything about the venue and the service. Top notch from start to finish!

I had my wedding at Cicada on June 22, 2013. Cicada was nothing but immaculate and lovely throughout the wedding planning process, the rehearsal, and the wedding day. The space speaks for itself, Cicada has style. My fiance and I were searching for a place that didn’t feel like an empty banquet hall and Cicada was so lush that we barely had to add any decor to the venue to make it feel like a wedding. We booked the venue about a year in advance and loved that all the catering, tables/chairs, linens, and wedding ceremony could all be bundled together. Throughout the tasting, meetings, and email exchanges, Richard and Adelmo were always professional, prompt with their responses, and very helpful and accommodating. The appetizers, courses, and entrees were all amazing. I found Cicada to be a very reasonable cost for a formal wedding and I never felt like we were paying for something we weren’t getting - Cicada was worth it! I had a beautiful night in a beautiful place, I am very grateful to have had my wedding at Cicada!

My daughter just had the PERFECT wedding at Cicada Restaurant. It is a stunning historic art deco venue. Everything about my experience with Cicada was outstanding. Great food, excellent service, stage and dance floor. The room is large enough to accomodate a big group(we had 162 guests) but feels intimate too. Adelmo is a pleasure to work with in every way. He has made so many weddings, has great ideas, and completely professional. The outside patio is a great place for the photo booth, the bar upstairs so beautiful. Our guests really enjoyed staying downtown and we highly recommend Cicada!!!!!!!

Cicada is a breathtaking venue that we knew would host our dream wedding from the first time we viewed it and met Adelmo. But the professionalism and quality of the staff and service is what made our wedding a perfect day. When it comes to the stressors that occur with wedding planning and the day of, you want your chosen professionals to be cool, calm, and collected. Adelmo is clearly a highly experienced professional who not only put us at ease, but performed at the highest level of excellence. This included saving us money when some outside vendors insisted on last minute changes, accommodating our every need on the day of, and running the smoothest possible wedding from start to finish. My groom and I decided to sit out of cocktails to have a moment alone and got to watch the Cicada crew turn over the ceremony space into the reception room. It was a sight to behold as they seamlessly transformed the room into our dream wedding space while bringing us endless food and beverage and ensuring our contentment. We felt like our personal enjoyment and comfort was their first priority. Additionally, the food is incredible and we are still receiving compliments on every dish and appetizer. Our guests not only loved the food and the gorgeous space, but repeatedly complimented the stellar staff and service. We also worked with manager, Richard, for our tasting and on the day of and he also was a pleasure to work with and was a large part of the high quality of our experience at Cicada. We can’t thank them enough!

PERFECT WEDDING DAY!!!!

We recently had our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at Cicada, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our experience.

I was my own wedding coordinator, and working with Adelmo was great. He answered all our questions promptly and made it so easy to work out all the details of arranging the ceremony and reception (which I thought was going to be so stressful!)
From the very first phone call inquiry, to our menu tasting, to final planning meetings, Adelmo was there handling everything personally. He was even the one to help straighten my veil right before I walked in for my grand entrance!

Great food and drinks were something really important to us for our event. We had eaten dinner at Cicada several times in the months leading up to our wedding, and we were always impressed by the food. I was hoping that it would be just as good for an event for 160 people, and it was by far the best food I've ever had at a wedding! Our guests raved about the food - the lamb and salmon were awesome.

The entire evening was magical, and it was effortless on our part because of the great staff at Cicada. Richard coordinated the events beautifully, and everything was taken care of without us having to worry about a thing. We were able to enjoy every minute of our night. We heard such great comments about the servers and bartenders throughout the night as well.

Most of our guests live in LA, but almost no one had been to Cicada before. They were all blown away by the gorgeous ambiance of the place. It truly is incredible inside, so there's no need to do much decorating to have a classy event. It was the perfect place for our Big Day!

Absolutely Amazing!!!! Our June 2012 wedding was everything I has envisioned and more. From the first time I walked into Cicada I knew that I had found the perfect location and I had to have it... Cicada is one of those places that takes you to a different era as soon as you walk in. Its rich with beautiful architecture and a history that draws you in. This place has everything you need and holds itself beautifully. Adelmo and his team were incredible. He is truly a man who loves what he does and he went out of his way to make our day perfect.

Richard and Adelmo helped make our wedding everything we had hoped for. The food was amazing, the service was FAST, they handled all of our little requests, and we couldn't have been happier! Stop by and see the place in person - no photos that we've seen online ever seem to do it justice!

Wedding planning is DEFINITELY not my thing, and we had looked at a few different venues with a lot of despair. Most of them were either too expensive or of no personal significance at all to us, and felt empty. We had been to Cicada a few times before for live bands and swing dancing events, and always enjoyed the space, so decided on a lark to check it out as a wedding venue. As soon as we started talking to their manager, Adelmo, we knew it was the spot for us.

The space is BEAUTIFUL, and we really didn't need to do much extra decorating at all to make it us, so we saved thousands of dollars there alone. The entire staff was so courteous and on point, it is clear they have a great deal of experience running wedding events. Everything ran like clockwork, and it allowed us to enjoy the experience without the headache of making sure things ran correctly. The food was also really good and the open bar was a major hit. From start to finish, we and our guests had a great experience!

I think this place doesn't do much advertising because they don't need to. They're already booked a year out and with good reason! Our tasting dinner was the best meal I've ever had. The venue is uniquely Los Angeles and the serving staff is fantastic. Adelmo was great to work with-- basically never said anything couldn't be done. He found a way. And Richard took good care of us the day-of. We had the best wedding ever and it wouldn't have been the same at any other location!

Richard is the general manager there and he is a GODSEND. He helped us with every single detail of the wedding and reception. The service was impeccable, and everyone said how amazing the food was.
