Hi, I’m Sabra, the heart and soul behind Ceremonies by Sabra. Your wedding ceremony should feel like you, never stiff, never generic, and definitely not a script pulled off the internet. That’s why I take the time to get to know you: your laughter, your quirks, your love, and the kind of energy you want for your day.
Some couples want short and sweet. Others want something fun and full of personality. Many want a balance of heartfelt and joyful. Some want religion woven in, others don’t. Whatever your vision, I’ll make sure your ceremony feels authentic, inclusive, and memorable.
Couples often tell me I bring calm when nerves are high, warmth when emotions run deep, and joy when it’s time to celebrate. Guests leave saying, “That was so them.” For me, that’s the absolute best compliment.
As a full-time, professional celebrant and ordained officiant, I bring both experience and heart to every “I do.” With training through Celebrant Academy (Master Celebrant Certification), Unboring! Wedding Academy, and as a certified pro at Wedding MBA, I’ve officiated over 700 ceremonies across Michigan and beyond. I’m also passport-ready for destination weddings.
Most importantly, I’m an equality enthusiast and proud ally. I serve all couples, LGBTQ+, non-religious, interfaith, and non-traditional, with inclusivity and respect. I love working with couples who are a little adventurous, a little quirky, and excited to make their ceremony a true reflection of who they are.

Together we crafted the perfect ceremony
IF YOU'RE READING THIS THEN BOOK SABRA. DO NOT SECOND GUESS IT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. SHE IS PERFECT. Seriously, we absolutely loved working with Sabra and highly recommend her. She was super flexible in helping us design our ceremony the way that we wanted it, and she was also able to help us navigate difficult aspects of the ceremony like dealing with family and also coming up with our own vows. Throughout the whole process she was super friendly and helpful. The first time we met with her to go over some details it was very sweet that at the end of the call she told us to take time to decide if we wanted to go with her but we already knew we wanted to work with her. Everything she had talked about in that first meeting let us know that she was ready to help craft the perfect ceremony. And spoiler alert--- she absolutely delivered! The rest of our vendors also appreciated having an actual professional officiant --- it makes a difference! She was able to coordinate with the other vendors much better than any relative licensed under the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster could have done. Overall Sabra was just a joy to work with and we appreciated her expertise as we worked through all the elements of our ceremony. It turned out to be perfect and we greatly appreciate her crucial role in that. Thanks Sabra!!

I would give her 1 million stars if I could!
She married us twice technically, once in privately July and again in December with the whole family. I was absolutely astonished with her attention to detail and overall caring personality. She literally felt like family to us even in just this short time! She gathered information from both my now husband and me BUT ALSO from 6 of our closest friends. This allowed her to formulate the MOST BEAUTIFUL ceremony I had ever seen and, while I may be biased, my cheeks hurt from smiling the whole time. She had our family crying and laughing and was captivating the entire time. She not only helped us with ceremony details but listened and even helped set up when we were running behind. She was an absolute dream to have on our wedding day and literally every guest I spoke to mentioned just how beautiful her words were. We were asked how she made it so personalized since nobody had ever seen such a personal ceremony, I can't tell you how many times I heard that it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever attended. When I think of all the things that went wrong with the wedding planning process, Sabra will never be one of them! For the rest of my life I will have this joyous memory she created for us. I will continue to recommend Sabra and speak highly of her for as long as we both shall live (ha-ha).

Fun, flexible, beautiful
Sabra was amazing and made our day that much more special. Her flow of the ceremony was quick, but very meaningful. We cried and laughed. And when the dogs would not calm down, she pressed on. Amazing woman!

A beautiful and personal ceremony!
Sabra officiated my wedding in Gladwin, MI at Riverwalk Place on 8/21/21. She did a beautiful job and made our ceremony feel so unique and special. Our “love story” that she wrote for the ceremony captured so perfectly the relationship between my husband and I. We appreciate her so much for all of the time and effort she put into making our wedding ceremony so intimate and personal to us. Many of our guests complimented us on our ceremony because they felt like it was so original and beautiful.
We cannot recommend her enough and would absolutely refer anyone getting married to book with her. She continues to study marital ceremonies so that she can give her couples a curated experience and goes out of her way to really get to know the relationship between both individuals by sending you questionnaires and performing a phone interview. Since we were a ways away from her location-wise she was not able to come to my rehearsal but provided me with such detailed instructions that our rehearsal ran smoothly and everyone knew their roles and what to do within an hour.
Sabra is also such a loving, inclusive, and big-hearted person. My husband and I were immediately impressed when we found her on Facebook because she performs marriages for all people regardless of their sexual orientation, race, or religion. In today’s world people like her are needed and so important because all people deserve love, inclusion, and the ability to marry their soulmates. We are so thankful for Sabra!

Sabra is a lovely officiant
We were so happy with the ceremony that Sabra wrote and officiated for our 05/01/2021 wedding. She actually spent time getting to know us and our story, and even reached out to a few of friends and family members to include their thoughts in the ceremony. I had multiple people tell me that ours was the best ceremony they had ever attended because of the thoughtfulness and storytelling aspect. If you're looking for a a really special, personalized ceremony, then I absolutely recommend Sabra.

Awesome + Amazing + So Much More!!!
Sabra was so amazing to work with!!! We found her on weddingwire and knew right away that we wanted to work with her based on her reviews. After the first phone call with her we knew we found the perfect person to officiate our wedding. She really took the time to get to know us, answer all of our questions, made sure we were ready with our marriage license the day of, coordinated with our photographer for directing us and guests at the conclusion of the ceremony, made sure our ceremony music was all good to go (literally helped to get the bluetooth working and finding the correct version of the ceremony music), and included our pup in the ceremony! She even checked in on me (bride) before the ceremony started to make sure I was relaxed and good to go. I mean, she did so much more than just officiate our wedding, but she really helped to make sure it went as smoothly as possible. The first time I met Sabra in person was when she checked in on me, but it honestly felt like I had met her many times before. She was so, so nice. A few months before our wedding, Sabra reached out to us to see if we were thinking about moving our date due to Covid. While we never ended up moving the date, it really impressed us that she made the first move to reach out and be flexible about potentially moving things around. We could go on and on with all of the good things we have to say about her. We definitely recommend her to anyone in need of officiant services!! She will absolutely make the whole experience wonderful, personable, and completely unique to the two special people celebrating their love that day.

Such an amazing experience!
Sabra was able to make our ceremony everything we wanted and more. We had SO many compliments on how wonderful she did. She set up a consultation call with my now husband and I so that we could get to know each other and allow us to get a feel for her to make sure she could offer what we were looking for. She took the time to draft up questions for us and got as much detail as she could over the course of a few months and was able to put together something so wonderful for us. She was affordable, flexible, attentive to all details, and very affordable compared to other Officiants we had looked into prior. I HIGHLY recommend!
