For our wedding, we chose Celebrity Cake Studio as it was highly recommended to us. My fiance and I were on a long trip from Alaska to Texas, so on the way to Washington, we scheduled a tasting with them. One of the owners, was able to sit down with my fiance, my father-in law and I and discuss everything from how it looks, to taste, and their delivery and we were very impressed. They gave us samples of their most popular flavors and in the end chose a 3-tier 93 serving cake with a different flavor for each tier of lemon cake/rasp filling, and white cake/lemon filling. It was very delicious during the tasting and I couldn't wait to have it on our wedding day!
On the day of the wedding, I got to see the cake for the first time! I was so excited and I couldn't wait to cut into it and taste it again. But I think we had a better experience during the tasting than the cake we had on the actual wedding, which was a tad bit of a disappointment. The buttercream was so sweet, I just had to scrape off the thick layer after a few bites just to finish the cake and at this point, I was done with this cake as I just couldn't taste the favors of the cake at all, as my now husband said the same thing.
In the end, we didn't bother to bring home the top layer to save as it was just overly sweet and thick that we ended up giving it to one of the family that had the most kids. At the price point, expectations was a bit crushed and laced with disappointment.
