Catalina express provides a safe and affordable way to get to Catalina.Our whole party had fun in one of their inexpensive lounges.Great company I would recommend any one of their vessels.

Catalina express is a high speed ferry that departs from three different ports to catalina island.
There are only two companies that make trips to catalina island, catalina express is a little more pricey than the other one, but has many more sailing times.Seating is comfortable, only two bags allowed on board- they also serve light snacks and drinks. Average ticket is $63 for adult round trip. You can contact their customer service to get a group rate.
Overall it did the job that we wanted it to do. they were very helpful in setting up a late sailing time for our guest to get back to the mainland. I would recommend them if you need to get a large party of people onto the island.

Everyone was able to get all lugage onboard and have a nice trip to the island. No fuss

We used them to transport the wedding party. They were okay. They worked with us to coordinate different ferry's for different people, but they weren't the most friendly.

On 5/21/21 at 10:15pm I witnessed an employee (not in uniform) kick a priest off the boat for no reason. Then when two people defended the priest they were threatened to be kicked off as well. The sheriff was called and these two people were pepper sprayed and arrested and taken off the boat. They were doing nothing wrong except asking for a little respect for a man of the cloth. This employee should be held accountable and fired for his careless actions. One employee, whether he is having a bad day or something, should not be able to rob 3 people of the money they paid for the boat ticket AND their dignity. Complete overreaction by the police as well.
