Carmela Marie was named after John's mother who was a true second generation Italian who loved spending time in the kitchen making homemade pasta for her family. John carried on with that passion for food and purchased a supermarket in 1979. In the early 80's, Tops Marketplace started offering prepared meals and catering was born! A few years later, they were catering large events and weddings. Today, they employ multiple chefs and staff to support their off-premise catering business.
John and Betsy have been working together for over 40 years. Betsy Tooker's passion is the kitchen when she's not communicating with newly engaged couples helping them plan their big day!
Ron Hackett joined Carmela Marie in 2020 and has spent the last 35 years of his career in the banquet industry in various roles in the kitchen.
