I found Cameo Cleaners on the internet and since they were in my neighborhood, I decided to take a chance. While the staff assured me that they could do the job, I was not fully convinced. After taking the dress in, they scheduled a first fitting, but then postponed it because one of their seamstresses (technicians) was going on vacation. When I came in for the first fitting, only half the work had been done and they did not know where all the extra pieces for the dress were. They seemed to really want to go shopping for extra fabric, but I thought it was a ridiculous when I had enough fabric in the dress itself which was a better match. They told me not to worry, but I was not reassured. The second fitting went much better. The dress was nearly completed, but I had to ask them to take in the underarms and straps on the dress to improve the fit. If I hadn't spoken up, I don't think they would have taken the time to make the adjustments. When they measured the bustle, I asked them to make it higher so I could walk without it touching the ground and the seamstress pinned it. However, they didn't take into account the length of the loop and my expensive silk dress dragged on the ground and got dirtier as the big day progressed. I didn't realize until afterwards that they also removed a bead from the bodice to add to the bustle button, which I wouldn't have approved, HAD I BEEN CONSULTED OR OFFERED A CHOICE. They seemed to place an inordinate amount of reverence on the pressing of the dress. Given that they are a cleaner, is fine, but I think they should have spent more time MAKING SURE THE DRESS FIT ME. Each time, a different seamstress helped me, which didn't assist the process, or my nerves. In the end, the work they did on my dress was of good quality. I would recommend them to sew a good seam and clean your gown, but would be cautious of asking for any extra work.
