About
The Bushnell Event Center is a historic wedding and events center located in Springfield, Ohio. The location is made up of three indoor event spaces and one outdoor space for ceremonies, each having their own unique decor to fit each couple’s personality. The recently remodeled with new floors, exposed stone and brick, brand new bathrooms from top to bottom. The venue is suitable for ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners.
Facilities and Capacity
The Bushnell Event Center is located on the lower level of the Bushnell Building, and has a total capacity of 600 people between the three spaces. The Asa S. Bushnell Room seats 300 to 325 guests and features a sizable lighted dance floor, a mobile bar, and fridge freezer. The Wren can accommodate 180 to 190 guests around the custom lit dance floor, and features rustic ceiling lighting to enjoy the space. The Cellar Room offers historic charm for up to 100 guests, with exposed brick walls, wooden floor, and unique seating areas. For more intimate ceremonies, the Outdoor Rose Area can accommodate between 60 and 80 people. The intricately painted mural of roses against the brick wall exterior creates an eclectic energy as you exchange vows.
Services Offered
All event spaces are fully customizable to best suit your personality and personal style. Some of the decor that is available on-site include aisle runners, romantic lighting, and ceremonial arches. Setup, cleanup, and arrangement of the tables and chairs will be taken care of by the staff, giving you freedom to enjoy your entire night. The venue is wheelchair accessible, offers free undercover car parking, and is within walking distance of a local hotel. The Bushnell Event Center is open to working with outside vendors, including bar and catering services, They provide cafe lights for the dance floor. Uplighting can also be rented from the venue.
History
The event center is located inside the lower floor of the historic Bushnell Building which was built in three stages throughout the 1800s and 1900s. In 1939, the Edward Wren Company acquired the Bushnell Building and relocated its high street retail store to the property. The building then became known by locals as “Wren’s,” and it became Springfield’s largest and most successful upscale store, and Downtown’s shopping mecca for decades.
