Bristles is the best salon in the Charlottesville area. I had hair, make-up, and nail appointments for my Mom, me, six bridesmaids, and a flower girl. They handled the large group so well - everything went smoothly with our tight timeline and the hair and make-up for everyone came out PERFECT!! My Mom is older and has never had her make-up done. She was very nervous that they would make her look older but they were so understanding about her concerns - when she was done she said "Wow, I could definitely get used to this!!". High recommendations for Bristles and all the wonderful hair and make-up artists there.

Bristles & Shears is an upscale salon and spa that will make you feel pampered and gorgeous on your big day! I had an early hair appointment on my big day and the ladies and Bristles & Shears went out of their way to make me feel special. While I was getting fluffed, I realized I did not have an appointment to get my makeup done. My stylist immediately called over the makeup artist and she rearranged her schedule to squeeze me in! Such lovely ladies and the salon is immaculately clean. Really top drawer. I asked and they more than delivered.

We did hair and makeup and all the ladies looked lovely! The have a nice set up too. They have a small room on the side where they set up breakfast items and drinks. We came in early enough and had the salon to ourselves! It was great! There was some confusion on pricing the day of.

Overall the service was good, not great. Arriving with 7 bridesmaids, 3 mothers and 1 flower girl in tow we were barely greeted at the front desk. After waiting a few minutes nearly all my bridesmaids were taken back to get started and I was left in the lobby because my stylist had just begun cutting someone's hair. We were on a tight schedule and Bristles knew this yet said nothing to the fact that I was started 45 minutes late. To top that off we asked if someone was available to paint our flower girls nails and the receptionist simply replied "no". We said it would only take a few minutes, she didn't need a manicure and he still said no. Then another girl walked by and said she would get us nail polish so that we could paint my flower girl's nails ourselves.
Overall, just okay, not impressed with the quality of service.
