About
History of Brian Glenn
Brian Glenn graduated with a BA in photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology
in 1979. RIT is considered by many to be one of the best schools in the world for the
photographic arts and sciences. After graduation, Brian started to work as a corporate public
relations and photojournalist in New York City. It wasn't long before some of the largest
companies in America started to call upon Brian to photograph their Chairman, CEO, managers
and employees for annual reports, publicity and other special events and productions. Clients
included the likes of NBC, Bank of America, IBM, State Farm, New York Stock Exchange, Air
Canada, Viacom, Nikon and many more. Publicists also gave Brian assignments to include
working one-on-one with celebrities such as Linda Carter, Miss California 2000, Linda Evans,
Don Rickles, Muhammad Ali, Peter, Paul & Mary, Judd Hirsch and others.
In 1994, Brian was asked by friends and family to photograph their weddings. Without any
experience in the wedding environment, Brian resorted to his training as a photojournalist. It
soon became clear that this style of shooting appealed to many brides and grooms. Other
photographers started to mimic his style and over the years, this became a popular way of
capturing those special moments. Brian is considered by many to be one of the first
photographers in the country to establish the style now labeled as "wedding photojournalism."
