I worked with Boxcar press to have letterpress plates made so I can DIY my invitations. I am not literate in digital design AT ALL. I worked with Rebecca, emailing different versions of my design so that it could be perfected and appropriate for pressing. Our contact was professional and very prompt. I had a couple difficulties due to the software I was using, but Rebecca was able to make the necessary changes which I will forever be grateful for. I ordered my plate on Thursday afternoon and it arrived on Saturday afternoon. I was blown away by how quickly they arrived. It was amazing to see my design come into fruition. Now on to hand pressing my own invitations. Thank you Boxcar!

Boxcar Press are a local printing press who do letterpress, digital lithography, foil stamping and lots of other printing techniques. They do a really great job and fine detail work - I was really impressed with the invites that came back! I have reduced half a star in quality of service because of a slight mix-up - the rep put the order in without the foil stamping I had requested, which delayed delivery.

However once they realised the mistake they immediately fixed it up, and worked over the weekend to make sure my invites were ready as soon as possible. They also accommodated my request to use paper that I supplied, which was not quite suitable for letterpress but they made sure that the ink would stay on and that the paper did not crease. I designed the invite myself, and their graphic designer then worked to make sure the file was formatted correctly for their use.

Really professional and smooth service (apart from that one thing) - I would use them again if I had another wedding! :)

I used them to print my wedding invitation suite. Kein was very responsive and answered my numerous questions about paper, cost, etc. In cases where things were unclear, they answered my requests for more specific details and worked with me to keep things in a comfortable range for me.

The only hiccup was with shipping and I think that was more on UPS and my being out of town, but they worked with me to smooth out the unfortunate delay. When I received the invitations, I was very pleased with the result and glad I spent the extra on the letter press and gold foil.

When my planner saw them, she didn't realise I'd designed them myself, they look really good :)

If I had more money and time, I would have them print my other paper goods.

We designed our invitations ourselves but needed a printer who could do silver foil on colored paper, and Boxcar Press could do what we needed in a knowledgeable and timely fashion without breaking the bank. Mary at Boxcar was helpful in working out our paper issues. We ended up getting our own paper elsewhere and had to do some testing, but it all worked out! The invitations turned out beautifully.
