We recently held our wedding reception (a 5 hour cocktail reception) at Blu Ristorante in Yorkville and I can't say enough about how great an experience it was! From the moment we contacted the manager, and quickly got a response, to the actual event the staff were incredibly receptive, professional and flexible. All details were followed perfectly and, unlike many other restaurant venues we looked at, additional things were allowed without expense (i.e. bringing in cupcakes or a cake without additional charge, using their microphone and projector system for a photo slideshow without charge and on short notice).
All of our guests commented on how amazing the food was and the service was spectacular. The staff was so helpful, even getting down on hands and knees to try to find a lost car key! I couldn't have envisioned a better experience. The cost of the venue is quite reasonable, you can throw a great, high-end cocktail party for a reasonable price.
The restaurant has a nice bar area out front which gets some light but the back is quite dark and romantic, so an afternoon cocktail reception appeared as though it was taking place in the evening. The exposed walls are gorgeous. All in all, we'd highly recommend this little place (little but holds over 100 seated) for any event! Compared to many of the places we contacted, this one was by far the most professional, flexible and responsive and it didn't hurt that the food was spectacular.
