From the very beginning, working with Sarah, Jim, Lish, Lindsey, and of course Miss Lilly was an absolute pleasure.

We didn’t bother touring any other venues. Almost immediately after our tour, we called Sarah ready to move forward with the contract and deposit. Even still, Black Walnut Farm managed to exceed every expectation we had.

There’s an incredible level of care and intention woven into every part of the space. Nothing feels overlooked, and everything is so thoughtfully managed.

We chose the extended package and spent the week of our wedding on the property, just the two of us. Sitting by the fireplace with chess and wine the night before was the perfect way to unwind. The hot tub at the end of our wedding day was easily one of the best decisions we made!

Most importantly, the BWF team was calm, kind, and steady throughout it all. Even with drama and unpredictable spring weather, they handled everything with grace and confidence. I trusted them completely, deferred to their expertise without hesitation, and I’m so glad I did — the rain backup plan ended up being even better than the original. In summation, shit was baller as fuck.

The most stunning, fun, and flexible wedding venue I could’ve ever imagined. Staying on the beautiful property in the most incredibly decorated historic home was an absolute highlight. The whole team at Black Walnut was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the planning process. We used Events Unlimited for rentals super close by for a tented dinner set up. Getting ready in the sunroom of the house, with gorgeous landscapes for family photos, ceremony in the woods, cocktails on the lawn, tented dinner, dancing in the barn under the 4 ft disco ball, ending with a massive bonfire … it was such an incredible experience !!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Black Walnut!!

Black Walnut Farm will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was the first venue we saw, and the moment we stepped on the property, we knew it was where we were meant to get married.

From the start, Sara, Jim, and their team cared for us with such warmth and attention. Their online planning portal made everything simple, but what we loved most was how personally they got to know us. They listened to our vision and brought it to life in a way that felt truly meaningful.

Throughout the weekend, every detail was handled with so much thought. Our guests felt welcomed, we felt supported, and even when the weather forced last-minute changes, the team stayed calm and kept everything running beautifully.

Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. Black Walnut Farm isn’t just a stunning venue, it’s a place filled with people who genuinely care about making your day unforgettable. We couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

We could not have asked for a better wedding experience than with Sarah, Jim, and the whole Black Walnut team. The venue was absolutely perfect, with a wonderful mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, and variety for guests to explore during our event. When touring venues, we were nervous about finding a place that would be able to accommodate and achieve our desire to have a wedding blending western and Indian elements. We were so lucky to have found Black Walnut, and the entire team made sure we could have our dream wedding. The flexibility to bring in outside caterers combined with the simplicity of having built-in bar services and flower arranging allowed us to have the wedding we wanted with the least amount of vendor-hunting. We highly recommend the pick your own flowers option, was such a unique and unexpectedly fun activity the day before our wedding.

We also could not have had our special day without the help of the planning services of Lindsey and all the behind the scenes work that the farm does to prepare. We highly recommend Lindsey as an exceptional planner, we simply could not have had a wedding without her.

The ability to stay at the farm for the whole weekend in the wonderful historic house was such an unforgettable experience, and something we couldn’t get anywhere else. Despite the stress of a wedding weekend, staying at the farmhouse felt like a mini-vacation. The provided wine, snacks, and other treats went to very good use.

We got never-ending compliments from our guests about the venue, with so many sharing how magical it felt and that they felt like they were in a fairytale.

We truly could not have asked for a better experience at Black Walnut and will forever recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue.

Everything about this venue is so thoughtfully curated and managed. There is just so much care and consideration that has gone into every inch of this very special place!
My partner and I decided to have a “honeymoon” week during the week of the wedding; we chose to have the extended package where we stayed on the property just the two of us. Unwinding in front of the fireplace while playing chess and drinking wine was such a lovely way to relax the night before. The sunroom is the perfect place for getting ready the morning of the wedding! After our wedding (in lieu of an after party) we just asked to have the hot tub ready for us, which was the best move ever!
Most importantly, the BWF team were so kind and patient, cool and collected. In the face of some extreme family drama and chaotic spring weather they always rolled with the punches. I felt that I could trust them fully and always felt safe and cared for. I was not afraid to defer to their expertise in the midst of the chaos, and I do not regret any of those decisions! In fact, the backup rain plan ended up being better than the original plan!

Our wedding weekend at Black Walnut Farm was nothing short of extraordinary. I had always dreamed of more than just a single day or a few hours of celebration—I imagined a full weekend surrounded by our favorite people, celebrating a love I had hoped for my entire life. Black Walnut Farm made that dream a reality in the most magical way.
My fiancé and I got engaged in June 2024 and waited until August to begin planning so we could savor being engaged. Black Walnut Farm was our first venue visit. During their open house, we explored the property while enjoying signature cocktails and bites, and we immediately felt at home meeting Jim. His warmth, charisma, and genuine spirit set the tone for everything that followed. The estate is breathtaking—acres of beauty, an enchanting forest, whimsical gardens, and a farmhouse filled with stunning, eclectic antiques. Within minutes, we knew our search was over. As we left, Jim smiled, saying he could tell we had found “the one.”
The planning process was seamless and stress-free. As someone who goes with the flow, I was amazed by how organized and supportive the team was. Timelines, documents, and communication were clear and thoughtful. Sarah, co-owner and Jim’s partner, made the experience effortless. While the venue is largely a la carte, Sarah provides a curated list of trusted vendors so you never feel lost. Together, Sarah and Jim are an unmatched team.
We chose the weekend package, allowing us and six guests to stay in the farmhouse from Thursday through Monday. Walking in felt like stepping into a dream. We were greeted with a handwritten card, a charcuterie board, and champagne. Fresh banana bread, muffins, and cookies were displayed, the refrigerator stocked with snacks, drinks, and s’mores essentials, and a bar cart held homemade old fashioneds. Every room included robes and fresh water by the bedside, and fireplaces were ready with stacked firewood. Our honeymoon suite was spacious and cozy, with its own fireplace, sitting area, and clawfoot tub. Black Walnut Farm even created a custom flag with our names and named a tree in our honor—a meaningful and unforgettable touch.
On Friday evening, we hosted our rehearsal dinner for fifty-five guests in the barn, which perfectly blends rustic elegance with antique details and warmth. The staff’s pride and attention to detail were evident, and Jim, Sarah, or Lindsey were always nearby to ensure everything ran smoothly. After dinner, my bridesmaids and I returned to the farmhouse for a cozy night by the fire watching Father of the Bride.
Our wedding day was pure magic. We got ready together in a sun-filled room, sharing laughter and happy tears. We exchanged vows in the forest, a fairytale setting. The celebration continued in the barn with cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Guests loved the barn loft, complete with a photo booth and a phone for leaving messages. Although the weather prevented our planned bonfire hour, Sarah and Jim graciously extended our time in the barn, ensuring the night remained just as special.
This weekend was the best experience of our lives. Our friends and family still talk about how incredible it was. We are endlessly grateful to Sarah, Jim, Miss Lily, and the entire Black Walnut Farm team for creating a wedding weekend we will cherish forever.

Sarah and Jim run an amazing venue. Decorated with the most eclectic decorations, their vision of a most spectacular wedding falls nothing short. My daughter's wedding this past weekend was nothing short of perfection. They are 100% attentive and are always one step ahead. It's like they can read your mind of what needs to be done. The farmhouse is warm and welcoming, filled with everything you need to have a most enjoyable stay. Upon arrival, the cookie jar was filled with cookies and a fresh baked bread was waiting. Pantry is full of cooking needs, fully stocked kitchen utensils, pots, pans , dishes, etc. Large farmhouse tables for your event make for a comfortable setting to enjoy your meal. The staff was available and extremely attentive throughout our event. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place.

It’s our first anniversary today and while looking at our wedding photos we were immediately taken back to the magic of Black Walnut Farm. We stayed on the property and hosted all of our events there and it was absolutely perfect. Everything is so beautifully decorated, makes you feel relaxed and at home, yet still feels like a getaway. It’s hard to put into words just how special this place is, and even more so the people who own it. Jim, Sarah, Travis, Lish and of course Ms. Lily went above and beyond to ensure our day was special. We planned from the West Coast and Sarah was a tremendous support at every point. Jim was amazing in helping show the magic of the property and Travis absolutely blew us away with his floral arrangements. We love this place so, so much and would highly recommend to anyone who is considering Black Walnut Farm.
