We are not a young couple. We are in our late 40's and had many guests that were much older. Our dj and his assistant had so much energy that they were able to get old people on the dance floor. They were actually dancing. We also had a large number of young people there. Everyone was on the dance floor and it was a day time wedding. I would truly recommend this company. They are very professional and listened to what we asked for and delivered it beyond our expectations. Thank you black tie djs. You guys are awesome and we will always be grateful to you.

I contracted with Black tie for my wedding in November 2014 and was excited because of all the great reviews and the experience that Dave, the owner, said all his DJs have. We contracted for lights, photobooth, and dj services (with a dj assistant and extra assistant to run a guest book at the photobooth). I have to start by saying that Matt, our DJ, had a great fun non-cheesy manner at the microphone and the music flowed beautifully. We gave Matt a lot of guidance about what kinds of music we wanted and he did a great job sticking to that style. We also had an entrance with musicians and dancers partway through the night and he coordinated well with them. The lighting was also just what I wanted.
However, Matt screwed up the speeches and first dances timeline such that my new FIL did not have the chance to do the blessing before dinner he was planning for. The timeline screwup happened despite spending an hour with Matt going over the written down timeline (emailed to him and input into his online forms - that's 2 media of timeline delivery) a week before and again just a few days before and the day of coordinator printing copies for him - and going over the timeline once more right before the entrance. There is really nothing else I could have done. The guests generally had no idea anything went wrong but my FIL definitely was disappointed. Also, on the company's online prep forms, I had also specifically said no electric slide, and he played it anyway.
On the photobooth, the assistant for the guestbook could not make it so the owner came for a few hours instead. To start, the WRONG DATE was on the printed pictures until one of my guests corrected it. Also, at our initial meetings I had asked if they were going to have picture frames - and Dave said they would be buying more props in the months ahead. I can see how that conversation might fall through the cracks but either way, there were no frames and the props were few.
