Black Pepper Photography is a woman-led, BIPOC-owned wedding photography and video studio serving Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Richmond, VA. Founded in 2020 by photographer Chayil McGlotten, we document weddings and engagements with warmth and emotional awareness, creating images where people feel seen and at ease — not overly posed or performed.

With 110+ weddings documented, our approach blends technical expertise with a people-first mindset: natural movement, honest moments, true-to-color editing, and environments that let couples be present on their wedding day. Rather than directing every moment, we prioritize trust, pacing, and emotional comfort — resulting in imagery and film that feels grounded and true to how the day actually felt.

Coverage options include additional hours, second shooters, 35mm film photography as an add-on, and video coverage for couples who want their day documented in both still images and motion. Final photography and video deliverables are provided as high-resolution digital files through an online gallery.
