About
Where Your Story Begins
Nestled along a breathtaking West Virginia ridgeline, Benedict Haid Farm offers couples a wedding destination that feels worlds away, yet is conveniently located just 21 miles and approximately 35 minutes from Charleston, West Virginia.
Spanning 650 picturesque acres, the farm provides a naturally beautiful backdrop for celebrations that are romantic, relaxed, and uniquely your own. Sweeping mountain and countryside views, historic log homes, inviting porches, and peaceful outdoor spaces create endless possibilities for ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, photography, and unforgettable wedding weekends.
Since 1986, Benedict Haid Farm has been part of hundreds of special celebrations, welcoming generations of couples, families, and friends to gather, reconnect, and make memories together.
One of the things that makes Benedict Haid Farm so special is the opportunity to turn your wedding into an entire weekend experience. The property features two distinctive historic homes, the Haid House and Black Bear Lodge, allowing couples and their guests to settle in, slow down, and enjoy the beauty of the farm.
The Haid House, a remarkable hand-hewn log home dating to the 1860s, combines historic Appalachian character with modern comforts. Two full bedrooms, a sunroom with a full-size sleeper, wood-burning fireplaces in the living and dining rooms, a modern kitchen, and an expansive screened-in deck make it an inviting gathering place. The deck features its own large fireplace, supplemental heaters, a hot tub, and outdoor grill; perfect for relaxing with family and friends before or after the celebration.
Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Haid House, the Black Bear Lodge is a beautifully reassembled Civil War-era home offering three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a modern kitchen, and a spacious porch with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Reserved for lodging rather than parties or group events, it provides a peaceful retreat during a busy wedding weekend.
At Benedict Haid Farm, you won't find the feel of a traditional ballroom or cookie-cutter wedding venue. Instead, you'll find open skies, historic character, mountain views, quiet spaces, and the freedom to create a celebration that reflects who you are as a couple.
Whether you envision an intimate gathering surrounded by your closest family and friends or a joyful outdoor celebration against the backdrop of the West Virginia mountains, Benedict Haid Farm offers something increasingly rare: a beautiful place with history, character, and room to make it completely your own.
Come for the view. Stay for the weekend. Begin your next chapter at Benedict Haid Farm.
