Ben's main course of photography is photojournalism and I knew he would understand exactly what I wanted right from the beginning. I'm not much for the traditional stand and pose shots and I love the natural look of candids & unknown photos. As soon as we met for the first time, i knew he was perfect for us- fun, enthusiastic, & energetic with a passion for his job. He was extremely flexible with us about payments, contracts etc. making sure that we always felt comfortable with the situation.
The day of the wedding, both his mother and his sister accompanied him as assistants/second photographers. They were actually the ones who helped keep me calm while we were getting ready and they got some amazing shots not only in the hotel room, but all the way through the wedding- including Ben running across to the bridge on the lake to get photos from another perspective, instead of just from the aisle or sides of the ceremony.
All the bridal party and guests thought they were lovely and fun to be around, and I'd told all three of them the morning of that I wanted them to enjoy themselves as well as do their job, so I didn't mind if they wanted to join in and dance, talk and mingle with the guests etc. Ben also accompanied 2 of the bridesmaids when they went to prank our hotel room and got some amazing shots of them "trashing" the room.
Within 3 weeks of the wedding, I received an email saying that our photos were ready, on DVD and we were welcome to purchase prints. I had expected somewhere around 6-8 weeks for processing, so imagine my thrill to not even be back from the honeymoon yet when they were ready!
Included in our package was a free engagement shoot which we never did as we booked him last minute before the wedding. We're planning on doing a trash the dress session instead, which I think they might be more excited about than I am (which is saying something, seeing as I'm desperate to do it!) and I'm really pleased that Organic Exposure is so open to trying something new that they haven't done before. I can't wait to see the photos from that!
