Avalon Keep Botanical Gardens is an event venue located in Mena, about 80 miles west of Hot Springs and halfway between Fort Smith and Texarkana along the Arkansas and Oklahoma border. The venue offers a variety of unique ceremony sites on one historic estate. Senior Conservators Melinda and Michael Cate designed each element of the gardens to make the best use of natural light, land contour, and architectural amenities. Michael is a highly trained, master image maker and Melinda is a degreed artist. Together, they have created unique environments that transform a wedding ceremony into an event that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Facilities and Capacity
Avalon Keep Botanical Gardens accommodates up to 225 guests. The venue has six wedding event spaces. These include covered and uncovered outdoor areas as well as three waterfront areas that offer scenic views. The gardens are available to host bridal showers, elopements, receptions, ceremonies, and rehearsal dinners. Birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, reveal celebrations, and reunion dates are also available. By incorporating the best concepts from venues across the U.S. and Europe, couples have picture-perfect backdrops for their formal photos. Michael and Melinda have photographed more than 1200 weddings and know how to make the photographic experience easy, enjoyable, and forever beautiful. Natural elevations and landscaped elements are designed with sun direction, client convenience, and a touch of cinematic drama in mind.

Avalon Keep Botanical Gardens is located on the edge of the Ouachita National Forest. The woodland gardens are a nature lover's paradise. Lake Wilhelmina is only a stone's throw down the road, providing a delightful area for photos, videos, or a day-long excursion. The venue premises is located just off of Highway 8, meaning that both in and out-of-state travel is simple and convenient.
